Some CVs get passed over in less than 5 seconds. 🤔 The main culprit is always the visual formatting. The lack of visual appeal creates an immediate tendency to stop reading further, leading to a double KO situation. Both sides lose. Reviewers can be surface deep due to time constraints, but it won't advance your purpose much to confirm this fact. "Better" is to improve your CV, and close the loop. The best CV format is a 1 to 2 pager. I explained previously why anything more than page 1 may not even be seriously reviewed, so you want to throw your knockout punch on page 1. 🥊 Here's a tip. If it is a 2 pager, do not be less than 75% filled on page 2. Aesthetics matter and the repeating of content just to fill space is not a good solution! Plan well and write your CV in under 3 hours. I show you how in this step by step guide --> https://lnkd.in/gvT_6VuM Need further help? DM Joo Kwang for details. P.S. The right CV opens doors. #CV #Resume #Coaching #EasyApply (Image Credit: Jobs . ac . uk)

Not everyone is good at writing CVs. Your CV is NOT your experience. It is a piece of paper with words on it in a certain order, which is the gateway to getting you a job. Imagine how disappointing it is to see someone who very well might have great experience writing a bad CV. And then sticking with the same format for years, and wondering why their job applications never go anywhere. No one is perfect. But the sooner you realize your own weaknesses, the sooner you can open up the conversation to find support, advice, ideas, and to IMPROVE. In the context of CV writing, this means getting constructive feedback, trying different formats and summary styles, making 4-5 different versions, looking up advice, and sometimes even stealing ideas from other people's CVs. Life is a constant stream of finding what we're really good at and building the support structures to reduce the gap from our weaknesses. The CV you used to get a job 5 years ago is probably no longer relevant in the current context - you need to be better to stand out. Sorry but I have nothing but tough love for you today. Go get 'em, Tigers. #CV #Resume #CVwriting #jobs #hiring #candidates #jobapplications #recruiting

I am almost 50 years old and have more past than future, and this is my humble opinion. On your personal LinkedIn profile, it counts for nothing what you write in terms of work experience you have done, i.e. reporting your CV, but only three things count: 1) your current job title 2) the references written in your LinkedIn profile, which people who have worked with you, have written about you!!! 3) The quality of the things you publish. Everything else counts for very little. *Recruiters should focus a little more on the aspect of references that a former colleague or former employer of yours has written about you, instead of always focusing too much on a person's CV, as a person can write whatever they want on their CV, whereas references cannot be made up*

🔎 CV Mistakes to Avoid: Stand Out with Confidence! Hey everyone, At work, I review many CVs, and quite often, I help friends shape theirs, too. Over time, I’ve noticed some common mistakes that are easy to fix. Recruiters and HRs receive tons of CVs, and if you want to catch attention quickly, let's make sure your CV stands out for all the right reasons: 1️⃣ Job Description Overload: Instead of copying your job description, highlight your unique contributions. What did you achieve that others didn't? 2️⃣ Lack of Numbers: Numbers speak louder than words! Showcase your achievements with concrete data – % growth, budgets handled, number of projects, international collaborations. Make your CV a story of success! 3️⃣ Grammar Gremlins: Typos and grammatical errors can be a turn-off. A polished CV reflects attention to detail. Double-check, use tools or get a friend to proofread. 4️⃣ Dead Links: Ensure all links work and permissions are set to public. Nothing worse than a recruiter hitting a dead end! Remember, your CV is your personal marketing tool. Make it as dynamic and impressive as you are. Cheers to standing out! 🥂 #CVWriting #JobSearch #ProfessionalGrowth

Stuck in a CV rut? Let's fix that! Here's your blueprint to a CV that opens doors.📝🙂 1️⃣ Tailor it! I know it's tempting to blast the same CV everywhere, but customisation is key. Make sure you're speaking directly to the job description and highlighting relevant experience. 2️⃣ Be concise. Keep your CV to 2 pages max. Recruiters skim and you want your strongest points to grab them immediately. 3️⃣ Lead with achievements, not duties. It's not just about what you did, it's about the impact you made. Use metrics to give weight to your achievements. 4️⃣ Keep the layout clean and professional. No need for fancy fonts or colours. Readability is crucial, so use bullet points to break up text. 5️⃣ Mind the gap! If you've had career gaps, be ready to explain them in a positive light, focusing on growth and learning. Remember, your CV is a personal marketing tool - make every word count! 📄✨ #CareerDevelopment #CVTips #JobSearch

10 Ways to Get Your CV Rejected Why? Because these are common mistakes you might be making without realizing it! Here's the story: Yesterday, my cousin called me, frustrated and confused, asking ⬇️ -> Why are my CVs constantly rejected by companies? -> What am I doing wrong? To help her (and you), here are 10 things to avoid if you don't want your CV rejected: 1. Ignoring Tailoring: Not customizing your CV for each job application. 2. Overloading Information: Including too much irrelevant detail. 3. Poor Formatting: Using a hard-to-read layout or fonts. 4. Spelling and Grammar Errors: Overlooking the importance of proofreading. 5. Using Clichés: Relying on overused phrases and buzzwords. 6. Being Vague: Not providing specific examples of achievements. 7. Omitting Keywords: Forgetting to include relevant industry-specific terms. 8. Unprofessional Email: Using an unprofessional email address. 9. Wrong Length: Making your CV too long or too short. 10. Missing Contact Information: Not providing clear contact details. Remember, your CV is your first impression on potential employers. ATS software (which scans your CV) is brutal, and I don't want you to be its victim. Fix these issues right away! 🩷 #SimranBahenwar #Jobs #ResumeTips #CV #ResumeTemplate #linkedInconnections #linkedIn

The way you structure your CV is annoyingly important (Most optimise for the wrong things) After my post last week, I had over a dozen people reach out asking for the CV template I recommend to my family and friends. In my view, your CV should have 4 main characteristics: ❇️ Concise ❇️ Optimized for skimming (F-Pattern) ❇️ Emphasise your strengths and relevant skills ❇️ Clear contact details, social proof, and right to work Most CVs aim for "ATS" optimisation, which is silly because most modern tools will parse your CV effectively, even if it looks like a dog's breakfast. As long as you don't have photos and weird columns in your CV, you shouldn't worry about any ATS. This is a myth as far as I'm concerned. Instead, you should be trying to optimise for the points above. If anyone wants the Template Harry used, comment below or send me a DM. (This is free, you shouldn't pay anyone for a CV template)

** Why a Concise CV is Essential in Today’s Job Market ** In a fast-paced job market, I’ve noticed a trend of people saying CVs are outdated… I strongly disagree. It’s not about the CV itself, but how you present it. Think of your CV as a compelling bio that answers the question: “Why should I hire you?” 🤔 A well-crafted, two-page CV captures the attention of potential employers and distills your experiences into the most relevant skills and achievements. This clarity highlights what truly matters for the roles you’re targeting. Here are some tips to elevate your CV: 👉 Use Industry-Specific keywords, align your skills and experience to enhance discoverability. 👉 Aim for 2 pages If possible, focus on recent experiences and trim outdated or less relevant roles. 👉 A concise format highlights your key qualifications and achievements right away. By crafting a concise CV that emphasises your strongest skills, you’ll stand out from the competition and boost your chances of landing that next opportunity! Let’s elevate our professional narratives! #JobHunting #CVs #CareerAdvice

Your CV might not even get a full read if it doesn’t catch the attention of HR quickly. Recruiters often scan CVs in an F-shaped pattern, focusing on the top sections and left side. Here’s how you can ensure your CV stands out: 1️⃣ Start Strong: Place your name and contact information at the top, followed by a brief summary highlighting who you are and why you’re a great fit for the role. 2️⃣ Highlight Recent Experience: Make your current or most recent job easy to find. List the job title, company name, and key responsibilities right after your summary. 3️⃣ Use Clear Headings: Break up the text with headings like “Experience” or “Skills.” Use bullet points to outline your tasks and achievements. 4️⃣ Prioritize Key Achievements: For each role, lead with the most impactful accomplishment. 5️⃣ Keep It Concise: Avoid overwhelming your CV with text. Use short sentences and clear language. 6️⃣ Strategic Placement: Align important details like job titles and dates to the left side of the page where they’ll be quickly noticed. Remember: First impressions matter, and a well-structured CV can make all the difference. Let’s get your CV noticed!
