Why is "The Challenger" the best first hire for a startup? When TalentBee began, we were bursting with excitement and big ideas. But we quickly realized one thing – we couldn’t do it alone. Enter Nea, our very first hire from more than 2 years ago, who became so much more than just a team member. 🐝 From day one, Nea didn’t just support us – she challenged us. Her curiosity and courage to question everything helped us see flaws and fix them before they became bad habits. Some of our favorite phrases from her early days: ✨ “Why are you doing it this way?” ✨ “I just thought I’d say this out loud!” ✨ “I’m not sure about this, but shall we try?” Nea became the mirror that showed us where we needed to grow, both as an employer and in our client work. Her willingness to call things out constructively pushed TalentBee onto a faster path to success – and for that, we’re forever grateful. Here’s what we’ve learned about making your first hire count in a startup: 1️⃣ Hire someone who dares to question AND keeps it constructive. 2️⃣ Value critical thinking – it’s better to find cracks early than rush ahead. 3️⃣ Don’t fear that challenges will slow you down. They’ll speed up your long-term success. Thank you, Nea, for being part of this amazing ride for over two years now. We’re so happy you chose us! 🥰 What about you? What do you think is the most important quality for a startup’s first hire? #StartupLife #FirstHire #TalentBeez #Challenger

In the fast-paced world of startups, adaptability isn't just a skill—it's a necessity. At Hire Abroad, we recently faced unexpected changes within our team that required immediate attention and action. Changes, especially unplanned ones, can seem overwhelming at first. They disrupt our routines and challenge our comfort zones. However, they also present unique opportunities for growth and improvement. Stepping in to manage our development team for a few weeks, I was reminded of the intense pace and flexibility required not just to survive but thrive in this environment. Our actions as a team provided invaluable insights into our product development and organizational structure. They allowed us to reassess our team's needs, aligning them more closely with our strategic goals. We're now better positioned to identify and onboard someone who fits our immediate needs and will drive our future growth. In startups, the ability to pivot and adapt to new challenges is critical. It keeps us agile and sharp, and most importantly, it keeps us growing. I am grateful for these learning opportunities and excited about how they will help us better serve our clients and stakeholders. To all my fellow entrepreneurs, remember that change is not just an obstacle; it's an opportunity. Stay flexible, stay committed, and let's continue to grow together. #Leadership #StartupLessons #Adaptability #TeamBuilding #HireAbroad

#JustSayNo I'm not taking about what you're thinking ;-) I'm talking about the things you want to do the most. Stuff that's fun, exciting sometimes It may even help you But just is not priority! And it's taking you away From what you got to get done! It damn hard to do. But its the key to getting s$@t done! Jonny said it best Watch the video he explains How Steve Jobs gave him the same advice. This week, I felt my focus being pulled. Lots to still learn Lots to still say NO to Especially in the small team setup of a Startup But I think this holds true regardless. What about you? Have you struggled with saying no to good opportunities? How do you stay focused on what really matters? Let me know in the comments below! 👇 #StartupLife #FocusIsEverything #JonyIveWisdom #SayNoToGrow p.s. Thanks to my buddy who sent this my way ;-)

I was just talking to a friend who had switched from working in a large organization to a startup, and then again to a bigger company because the startup workload was too intense. This conversation made me realize the stark differences between these two work environments. In a large organization: 1. You often have dedicated, well-defined responsibilities 2. There's usually a structured workflow and established processes 3. Resources and support systems are typically more abundant In a startup: 1. You frequently wear multiple hats 2. Going the extra mile is often the norm, not the exception 3. You're responsible for end-to-end processes 4. Resources might be limited, requiring creative problem-solving Yes, startup life can be demanding. The workload can be heavy, and the hours can be long. But then the satisfaction you get from building something from scratch, seeing your direct impact on the company's growth – it's immense. However, they each have their pros and cons. Large organizations offer stability and structure, while startups provide rapid growth opportunities and a chance to shape the company culture. I think the key is understanding what environment aligns best with your work style, career goals, and life circumstances. Some thrive in the startup hustle, while others prefer the stability of larger corporations. #CareerGrowth #StartupLife #CorporateCulture #WorkLifeBalance

🚀 The Startup Hiring Struggle is Real 🚀 After our recent event in Austin, one thing became crystal clear: startups are feeling the pressure when it comes to hiring and scaling. It’s not just about finding people—it’s about finding the right people, fast, and in a way that doesn’t break the bank. 💸 Here’s what we learned: 1️⃣ Specialized talent is in high demand—startups need experts to fill critical roles, but finding them locally can be a huge challenge. 2️⃣ Cost-effective scaling is a must—growing your team shouldn’t mean sacrificing your budget or your sanity. 3️⃣ Flexibility is key—startups need agile team structures that can adapt as their business evolves. What we took away from this is simple: Startups need better solutions. And we’re here to provide them. By tapping into global offshore talent, we’re helping companies build strong, scalable teams that are ready to drive growth and success. Dear founders, please be openminded when recruiting ! Being purely traditional is so last season. 🙄 It's such an exciting time when a startup gets to the point of starting to recruit, a milestone really. And the choice of the person / people one recruits can make or break the company. At the very early stage, it most likely WILL make or break the company. There are two types of founders that recruit: the traditional ones who think the go the safe route, and the modern ones who go with their gut. The traditional one will go with the person who went to business school, spent three years at one of the Big4, got bored and is excited to join a startup for the first time. The modern one will go with whomever does not fit this profile but feels right and has a good energy. After having seen hundreds of startups all over Europe, I have seen founders often making this choice based on personal preference, bias, or based on someones advice, rather than making the choice based on what role they are recruiting for and what skills the person needs to bring to the table. So my dear founders, when recruiting, please ask yourself what skills you would like to see in a person - hard skills and soft skills - interview and hire based on that, not on what school they went to (or didn't go to). Transferable skills are definitely in this season !! #recruitment #startups #founder #startupdevelopment #startupcoach #businessangel #skilldevelopment #investor #earlystageinvestor #techstartups BCD Associates

"A lot of these questions aren’t just about work, but about what you value in life and whether the work you’re doing, taking up a large part of your day, aligns with those values. For some people, their biggest value is stability. They want to start a family and are happy with a job that provides economic stability, but they’re not as willing to take risks because they don’t want to deal with uncertainty. In that case, I wouldn’t suggest they leap into doing a startup." - 🃏 Sherry Jiang, CEO & Cofounder of Peek Watch, listen or read the full insight at https://lnkd.in/gi58MSTV Nonton, dengar atau baca wawasan lengkapnya di https://lnkd.in/gH6yNCdX 观看、收听或阅读全文,请访问 https://lnkd.in/gWe7mX5U Xem, nghe hoặc đọc toàn bộ thông tin chi tiết tại https://lnkd.in/gVbjpSKc #WorkLifeHarmony #ValuesDrivenCareer #CareerJourney #LifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth #StabilityMatters #FindYourPath #ValueAlignment #CareerChoices #PersonalDevelopment

For many startups, the toughest challenges don't arise in the early days of hustle and grind. The real test comes when you're succeeding—when your company grows beyond its initial team and starts scaling up. 🤯 The Critical 10-50 Employee Phase: As your startup transitions from a small, close-knit team to a mid-sized company—typically around the 10-50 employee mark—new challenges emerge that can be surprisingly difficult to manage: ❕ Scrappy processes that once fueled your agility now start to create operational chaos. ❕ Tight-knit teams face difficulties integrating new hires, leading to friction and misalignment. ❕ Hands-on leadership becomes impossible to sustain as the demands on your time and attention multiply. These challenges are not just growing pains; they can be make-or-break moments for your company’s future. Does this sound familiar? You’re not alone. Many founders experience these exact struggles. The good news is that these challenges also present opportunities for transformation. What’s Your Biggest “Success Problem”?
