Systemic Justice’s Post

How can communities and movements use the courts to drive their causes and campaigns? We've developed a Community toolkit for change to help answer this question and build the knowledge and power of communities fighting for racial, social, and economic justice. Here’s what’s included: 📘 Strategic litigation: A guide for legal action Litigation can be a powerful tool for systemic change. This guide breaks down the essential components of strategic litigation, offering real-world examples to help you understand its role in advancing justice—both inside and outside the courtroom. 📖 Words for justice: A glossary of essential legal terms Legal language shouldn’t be a barrier to justice. This glossary demystifies legal terminology so communities can integrate legal tools into their advocacy on their own terms. 💬 How can we use the courts? A conversation starter This is a simple document with questions that you can bring into community spaces to spark discussions on how litigation could support your vision for change. This resource helps you identify actionable steps to develop a community-driven legal strategy. Legal knowledge shouldn’t exclusively sit with lawyers or legal advisors. When it does, it cannot serve justice for all. This is why when developing these resources, we’ve prioritised clarity and accessibility. The toolkit is available in multiple languages: English, French, Spanish, Danish, and Turkish. 🔗 Explore the toolkit and download the resources here: https://lnkd.in/gTJmZqiN
