Did you know that contractors and subcontractors of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) will soon be required to become Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certified (CMMC)? This certification is to ensure that Federal Contractor Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) are adequately safeguarded. Cybersecurity mandates have become more important as government-led efforts are increasing to protect the U.S. defense supply chain from cyber-threats and lower the risk levels throughout the larger defense sector. The certification acts to verify that acceptable levels of cybersecurity have been implemented. The deadline to become Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certified is October 2026, however a Gap Assessment should be conducted now so that your organization has time to examine and determine the appropriate solutions to close the gaps and implement the necessary requirements to become certified.
