Working hard while never a bad thing, is not really a magic that leads to success. Here's the roadmap to how you can also produce similar results -> 0. Understand your research interest Identify your research focus and subjects you are intersted in. Ensure to read the program structure carefully. 1. Research target program Check requirements and eligibility. Review recent publications, achievements, trends and current projects to ensure alignment with your academic and research interests. 2. Prepare all documents Carefully gather and prepare all the required documents for your application. Typical documents may include academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, CV, a motivation letter. 3. Write motivation letter This, in my opinion, is the most crucial step. I've made motivation letter template (the template made by reveiwing other successfull motivation letters) with several personalized tips and example, which you can find in the complete guide: https://lnkd.in/eaasDedB The quality of your motivation letter directly results your acceptance rate, so make sure you’re not copying a template from Google or ChatGPT, but actually using something that works. 4. Letters of Recommendations Secure strong letters from people who can attest your academic abilities and potential. Provide them points you want to be covered and ensure the letters alignt with your work and the narrative presented in your motivation letter. 5. Apply for multiple programs Given the competitive nature of the program, you must apply for multiple programs to increase your chances for success. Brownie points: -> There are many types of Europass CV. Make sure to use clear and structred template, which includes also links for each experience. -> Create strong online presence. If possible, create your personal website and present every project you did. Studying in the UK: A chevener’s perspective The “Studying in the UK” essay is a very important component of the Chevening scholarship application, and you need to write exceptional reasons that demonstrate or justify your proposition to be there. Key reasons to study in the UK are listed on the Chevening official website here Why study in the UK? | Chevening. You need to own the story to win the scholarship. In other words, what would studying in the UK do to your career, leadership and influencing skills among others. Here are a few tips to writing a winning “studying in the UK” essay from my perspective as Chevening scholar. Firstly, align your professional and career goals to your proposition to study in the UK e.g. how will this build your language skills, address your knowledge and skills gap. Secondly, demonstrate that you understand key traits of the UK that make it stand out from other nations e.g. discovery of DNA finger printing technology at the University of Leicester if you are studying molecular genetics will make an exceptional justification if it aligns well with the skills you seek to gain. Thirdly, demonstrate that you have done sufficient research about the UK’s universities or education, culture, technology, the creative industries, history, cuisine, tourism and the influence of the English language. Lastly, use examples that support your proposition in points number one, two and three. You do this by going deeper to explain each of the components that make studying in the UK relevant as in a few examples below: 1.       Quality of UK universities. The UK has some of the very best universities in the world with leading research and innovations in all sectors. Explain why you are choosing those universities and courses as well as explaining how they align with your professional or career goals. Indicate how that knowledge or skills obtained from your study in the UK will help you to create impact or change in your field when you return home. Be realistic about your example. 2.       Thriving creative industry in the UK. The British film industry is well known for producing captivating movies such as James Bond, Harry Potter among others. Its media industry, led by the British Broadcasting Corporation, is cutting edge and a clear global leader. You need to show, in your essay, how your being in this environment would enhance your network with the industry and how that would build your skills and professional networks in your field. This is one of the reasons why I am studying media and communications in the UK.
