As facilitators, our primary role is to make a difference for others. ✨ To make that difference, we give generously of ourselves. 🤝 We share our experience, our expertise, our talents, our perspectives – offering up our gifts. 🎁 We also show humility by sharing our failures, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities – offering up our imperfections. 🫣 There’s a secret to being TRULY exceptional in our work as facilitators. ✨ It’s not just about being skillful, knowledgeable, or technically savvy... ⛔️ To be truly extraordinary, we must know ourselves really, really well. 💙 💬 How do you embrace self-awareness in your facilitation? We'd love to hear about it in the comments below. #Facilitation #SelfAwareness #ProfessionalGrowth #LearningAndDevelopment #FivePersonas

💡 Monday reflections 💡 Last week I joined a management training, one topic I have affection for is the emotional intelligence (also known as the EQ, emotional quotient), why? Because it is key to live in a society and have effective interactions with your shareholders. That is how you can build a collaborative environment. You can master all the communication techniques in the world, but if you don’t include the emotional intelligence your message might not resonate. One of the core element of the EI is the ability to understand emotions, needs, and concerns of others. We often hear that a good leader should demonstrate empathy. However empathy isn't just about offering support during difficult times, it's about truly understanding stakeholders in their entirety: what do they need, what do they mean and who they are by reading between the lines of their words and actions. That being said, EI was never a focus at school and that's certainly a gap worth addressing!

🦸🏻♀️ Day 7: Leadership Skills from Life with Teens 🤦🏻♀️ Being a leader and a mom to two teenagers is like running high-stakes negotiations, conflict resolution workshops, and peace talks. All before breakfast. 🙈 My teens negotiate everything: curfews, chores, screen time, who gets the last slice of pizza. They’ve honed their persuasive skills to a level that would make any lawyer proud. And when the negotiations escalate into full-blown debates? That’s where my conflict resolution training kicks in (with a side of deep breathing). 💪🏻 The biggest lesson, though, is the art of being present but invisible. Teens need to know you’re always there when they need you. But they also need you to disappear when they don’t. It’s a balancing act of showing support while giving space, and honestly, it’s taught me more about leadership than any management course ever could. 💡 Leadership at work and at home isn’t so different. It’s about flexibility, continuous learning, listening, and empowerment. 🫶🏻 So here’s to all the parents out there leading with humor, patience, and a secret stash of chocolate for the tough days 😘 #ParentingSkills (Random picture as I had no time to explain and negotiate the why and what to get a picture of them 🙃… can you tell what and where it is?)
