WHAT'S GOING ON WITH SEO vs AI SEARCHES? Back in October 2023 when I was on G2's EAB, the head of SEO Ross Briggs did a session on SEO. It blew my mind and I invited him to come and talk to my team. #SEO is key to driving organic traffic and the Google Gods like to play around with the algorithm as much as Mother Nature plays with the weather! In May of this year I noticed some significant changes at my previous company's organic, it was down and when you just looked at Search results the AI generated answer took up the top third of the page, sponsored ads took the second third and then organic got relegated to the bottom of the page. Things were and are changing, and changing fast in the land of Search. It's part of every conversation I'm having within the #CMO networks. Now that I'm at G2 I am understanding and responsible for traffic more than I have been in my career. And I get to work with Ross now everyday!
