During my postgraduate studies at Queen Mary University of London, I had the opportunity to develop and pitch a business idea as part of the Entrepreneurship module, guided by our lecturer Gloria Appiah. Together with my talented teammates, Parth Jain, Saksham Malhotra, Chaithanya Jhade, Dhruv Karumbaya, and Sameera Kakade, we came up with the concept of TASTY TINGLES—a meal prep brand aimed at providing authentic Indian cuisine to international students in London. Tasty Tingles was designed as a solution to a problem many Indian students face in London: the struggle to find convenient, home-cooked meals while managing busy academic schedules. Our venture offered a subscription-based tiffin service that delivered authentic Indian lunch and dinner options directly to students' dorms via eco-friendly e-bikes. We catered to dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-specific meals, ensuring everyone could enjoy a taste of home. The experience of building Tasty Tingles was incredibly enriching. We conducted market analysis, created a business model canvas, and developed marketing strategies using social media and partnerships with student unions. Through this process, I learned the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and understanding customer needs. Additionally, this project allowed me to dive into sustainability by integrating eco-friendly packaging and delivery methods and emphasizing ethically sourced ingredients. Our team’s diverse skill set—from marketing and operations to finance and brand management—was crucial in bringing this idea to life. It was a collaborative effort that required strategic thinking and effective problem-solving, especially as we tackled challenges like customer acquisition and market differentiation. Overall, this project gave me hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, from ideation to execution, and taught me valuable lessons about leadership, adaptability, and business innovation. I’m proud of what we achieved with Tasty Tingles; it was an unforgettable part of my academic journey. #QMUL #London #UK #MScManagement #Deloitte #L&T #Accenture #Infosys #KPMG #Blackrock #Tataconsultancy #JPMorgan #Mckinsey #Bostonconsultinggroup #UKVI #NHS #Philips #Johnson&Johnson #Reliance

I've had the privilege of chatting to a lot of MBAs and PhDs recently who are nervous about switching from a different career into consulting. But there is no one path to Bain. Guest host Daniel Yellin talks with senior manager Lee Foster, based in our Atlanta office, about transitioning into consulting. Lee shifted from teaching and policy work with Teach for America to consulting after earning her MPP. They highlight how diverse backgrounds enrich Bain's teams and align with the firm's principle of "Diverse Teams, One Bain," demonstrating that varied experiences (like a PhD in Comparative Literature...!) can enhance consulting success: https://lnkd.in/eDmnbZC2

#leadership #economics #unitedstates #sustainability #nobelprize This individual profiled in this Business Insider article, akin to many at McKinsey & Company, still considered the top rated blue chip management consulting firm in the world, who leave in its constant churn, could perhaps benefit from knowing a few things: 1. McKinsey is, indeed, as he says but to be more precise, bespoke consulting to solve strategy problems corporate leaders face. 2. This, of necessity, implies “thinking” to solve problems strategically to advance the vision and mission of your corporate clients who are leaders of their enterprises. Office 365 is a tool. So is ChatGPT. Technology does not think. You do. 3. What then is thinking? McKinsey might also benefit from what I am about say here. Do I tell my client what they want to hear or do I tell my client on occasion what they do not want to hear unless as McKinsey I am generating revenue because I am engaged to be their external echo from their Harvard Business School class to perpetuate the status quo in the face of internal corporate dissent which may be speaking the truth? Exorbitant services pricing by branding that is disconnected from the outcomes a corporation must produce in its social context to advance self-dealing and vested interests is neither problem solving nor strategy and most certainly not thinking. An iPhone, for example, delivers the desired outcome to a user in superior experience. But how much is that experience worth? $1800 every year in September to drive up the stock price of Apple every 3 months, geopolitical tensions over trade with China and minerals for batteries, and suppression of Spotify on its platform to favor Apple Music? What is the benefit-cost analysis McKinsey ought to be able to do to answer the above case for $4-8 million over a 12 week engagement of about 6 consultants with MBAs, PhDs, MDs, and Law degrees from the top branded universities of the world? McKinsey is a consulting firm whose business model is to write up a case taught in a business school similar to the case study approach in law schools and solve them as the MBA graduate was taught in class. The firm turned it into a profession for MBAs with a backgroud in microeconomics and later began hiring graduates from other disciplines. The only strategy question McKinsey answers is: how do I raise the stock price of the corporation whose C-Suite engaged me to solve one or more business problems? Objective: All my solutions must converge to elevate the stock price every 3 months. The mystique must be stripped to call the emperor naked to get the economy right. Thinking is the scientific process of truth seeking to solve a problem, letting the chips fall where they may. Not only our kids but McKinsey must learn how to think because the world in which a corporation operates is at an inflection point.

I am grateful to have been invited to McKinsey & Company's Skills for Success programme which took place earlier in November 2024. As someone with a migration background, who grew up in a non-academic, low-income household, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate the world of career opportunities. Too often, people from similar backgrounds face systemic barriers, and it is clear that "Chancengleichheit"/equality of opportunities is still far from being a reality. Programmes like Skills for Success, a series of four informal virtual skill-building sessions designed for individuals with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, are vital because they help break down these barriers and open doors for individuals who might otherwise be excluded from such opportunities. They show that potential and ambition matter more than one’s starting point. I hope to see more programmes that challenge the status quo and empower diverse voices. Many thanks to McKinsey & Company, McKinsey Deutschland Österreich Schweiz #SkillsForSuccess #Chancengleichheit #ProfessionalDevelopment #LifelongLearning

Applying to McKinsey, Bain, or BCG? Tip #7: Don't Delay Your Application Anymore ⏳ You might have dreamt of a consulting career for too long, but: 🕰️ Planning too much and not taking action can be detrimental. 🕰️ As Freddie Mercury said, "Time waits for nobody🎵 " If you flirt too long with consulting without seriously applying, you might miss your chance: 🚫 The bulk of consulting hires are within 3 years of university graduation (bachelor, masters, MBA or PhD). 🚫 Experienced hires are rarer and more competitive. 🚫 Waiting too long might mean needing a fresh degree from a reputable (and probably expensive) business school. Need help? Our Consulting Bootcamp at High Bridge Academy is designed for that. LAST DAYS TO APPLY #mckinsey #bain #bcg #highbridgeacademy

Three years ago, I stepped into Bain & Company, wide-eyed and eager to learn. From mastering frameworks to tackling ambiguous problems, every challenge shaped me. Back then, I was a curious newcomer, overwhelmed yet determined - today, I’m a confident problem-solver, equipped with a toolkit to create impact. And here are my Top Learnings: 1. Embrace growth over perfection: It’s okay to not have all the answers; what matters is learning and evolving every day. 2. Relationships are everything: Success is built on genuine connections, trust, and the support of those around you. 3. Clarity in chaos: Whether in life or work, staying calm and focusing on what truly matters helps navigate any storm. I’m deeply grateful for the mentors and peers who made this journey transformative! 🚀 #ManagementConsulting #Growth
