This week's highlight was to attend "Exploring Connections: Strategy x Design x Sustainability" event at Nitor! With a lightning talk, I encouraged a mindset shift: let's start viewing regulation as a strategic business topic rather than a compliance task. 💼 I delved into Digital Product Passports (DPPs) to demonstrate how companies can navigate complex regulatory landscapes (ESPR, CSRD, DA, AIA, 10+ more legal acronyms....). By accessing and exchanging product information across the value chain—between material suppliers, logistics, brand owners, customers, and secondary market actors—we can uncover business value🚀 Sitra has funded DPP pilots to unearth organizational capabilities and data system solutions bringing value in areas like supply chain management, resource efficiency, consumer trust, product differentiation, extended product life-cycles, circular models, and ESG reporting 🌱 I hope the participants left with insights into combinatory capabilities of business modeling, optimized data and AI, and collaborative design. It's crucial for companies to streamline data flows across value networks and explore AI's potential in automating and designing business processes.The role of design is pivotal in transforming tech solutions into human-centric services and cross-organisational partnerships. 🤖🧔♀️ In panel discussion with stellar Eija-Leena (Eikku) K. Annika Madejska and Liisa Benmergui we explored the realms of data collaboration and AI. Despite challenges like varying maturity levels, we emphasized need for structured data and Finnish LLMs, as well as governance models and guidelines for responsible tech.
