POPULAR topic alert: showing up confidently in brand photos! Here is my take on the topic after photographing many women and being in front of the camera many times for my own branding needs. . 1) Step in front of the camera before you think you're "ready" because you will never feel "ready". Stepping in front of the camera is HARD, but not showing up for yourself and your dream is also HARD. Choose your hard. 2) No outfit, pounds lost, magic angles or amount of make-up is going to make you love yourself more in photos. You 100% must choose to love yourself now, in this moment, at your current size, age and phase of life. #loveyourself 3) Others have gone before you & many will come after. You were inspired by someone's photo, post, authenticity and/or brand. After you choose to show up in front of the camera , YOU will inspire others to follow your brave path and SHOW UP for themselves. 4) No one else can be you! You are the secret sauce & the magic ingredient. The world NEEDS you to share your gift and when you SHOW UP & put it out there... they will finally find you. Be confident knowing that it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing... but what YOU do in alignment that matters. 5) Commit to the process. Do your homework, find a photographer who you click with & love their work. Trust the process and be OPEN to new experiences. Ask all the questions! NO ONE is a natural in front of the camera unless it's what they do for a living. <3 . I snapped these happy pics after my branding photo shoot yesterday. I mean, why waste a good hair day, right? But it got me thinking... So many folks haven't updated their profile pics in ages. Clients often say they need "professional photos." I'm all for those, but LinkedIn has changed. It's more personal now, all about connections, authenticity and storytelling. From vibrant backgrounds to candid shots, today's LinkedIn pic shows the real you. It's where you reveal your personality to potential employers, clients, and your network. An investment into personal branding photos is great, but you can sometimes get away with using your smartphone if you practise enough. Of course there's a balance. Being authentic matters, but so does staying professional. I just think a stiff corporate headshot often misses the mark. What do you think?
