The "Death of a Salesforce"? Not So Fast... There's been quite a buzz about the potential end of traditional CRM giants. While I do see major changes, I don't see a dramatic shift from one day to another. Here's my take: 𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗘 - Big players like Hubspot and Salesforce are behind when it comes to leveraging data and AI. They are playing catch-up because they see what's happening in sales tech (especially top of funnel). - They are adding some AI but are not becoming AI- or data-first. Like the well-marketed "new" AI Solution "Hubspot Breeze" which is a lot of fluff. - Still very process driven platform whereas the modern sales tech (especially top of funnel) is moving in a data-driven / trigger-based / signal-driven direction. 𝗕𝗨𝗧 - While they are behind when it comes to AI- and data-first, their core features are not that easily replaceable. - Distribution and integration remain their massive advantage. - CRM switching pain > AI feature FOMO for now. Most new CRMs aren't revolutionizing functionality yet, still an advanced spreadsheet, process-driven but look a bit more like Notion ;) 𝗦𝗢 𝗜 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 - This catch up will go for a bit longer, bigger companies are staying on their current CRM for now. - New startups will probably go for a "new" CRM already. - We'll rather see tools built to seamlessly integrate with existing CRMs (mirroring back everything to keep the CRM as the central hub), enhancing their capabilities without replacing them entirely. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘? A move from process-driven to data-driven CRMs. Think dynamic and behavior-based instead of static. But this transformation takes time. How long? That's the million-dollar question. What's your view on the future of CRMs and sales tech? 𝗣𝗦: I also don't think that AI will replace sellers where they have their most value: in building relationships and selling. It's about taking away what's distracting, connecting the dots, making sense of data and not about calling for them (anyways not legal anymore) or writing an email for them.
