👕 Could this project create a $700 billion market for reused, rented, repaired, and remade clothes by 2030? 🛍 That's the ambitious goal behind The Fashion ReModel, a groundbreaking initiative launched by forward-thinking brands like Arc’teryx, Zalando, H&M, and five other industry leaders. This three-year project, led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, aims to revolutionize the fashion industry. ♻ The Fashion ReModel seeks to prove that scaling circular business models is not only possible but can also significantly reduce the fashion industry's environmental impact. The initiative addresses the high emissions and waste in fashion, which currently contributes 2.1 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases annually. Embracing circular economy models could slash one-third of these emissions, aligning the industry with the Paris Agreement. 📈 The first working session in London tackled the financial hurdles to circularity. Over the next three years, The Fashion ReModel will explore various topics, sharing valuable insights and solutions to promote a sustainable future for fashion. Hopefully this project will serve as an accelerator of circularity in the fashion industry. 😱Life lately has been a whirlwind and I haven’t posted about it much because…when?? but something I’m particularly excited about is speaking at Source Fashion this upcoming Sunday in a panel discussing circularity alongside Charlotte Pumford from Vivobarefoot and moderated by Laura Husband. 🙌If you’re coming to Source Fashion send me a message and let’s catch up! You can book your free ticket here: https://lnkd.in/dg9rfxUT More info on the panel: ⏰1.30pm - 2.15pm Creating with the end in mind - how can fashion achieve true circularity? ♻️The circular economy is not a new concept, but consumers and fashion brands alike are starting to reconsider their involvement within the cycle. Do fashion brands need to create apparel by thinking about what happens to it at end of life? There are lots of materials and components that have an environmental impact beyond the obvious, and this also needs to be considered. ♻️This panel will discuss the importance in creating clothes from materials that are long-lasting but also recyclable – ultimately creating with the end in mind. It will also focus on how brands can support customers in contributing to a circular economy, tangibles solutions to extending the lifespan of your garments and what to do when products reach end of life.

Team PANGAIA recently attended the Global Fashion Summit, reflecting on 15 years since the first event. It's clear we've made some progress, but the urgency to ramp up action and implementation has never been greater. Here are some key takeaways from the Summit, including from a panel where our Chief Engagement Officer, Eva Kruse, focused on 15 Years of Activating Impact: 🏅 Commitment to Change: While fashion isn't doing enough, we are dedicated to working towards a more inclusive and responsible industry for both the planet and people. 💡 Shared Value: Our industry’s shared value varies, but we must collectively shift the narrative. Redirecting this narrative presents a significant opportunity for social change. 🤝 Collaboration is Key: Transforming business into a force for good depends on collaborative partnerships. It was inspiring to see innovators, brands, manufacturers, and purpose-driven organizations come together at the Summit. 🔵 Focus on Circularity: The main themes were circularity and the transition towards next-gen materials. However, there was a noticeable lack of coverage on human rights and the people making our clothes. We look forward to this being addressed more closely at the 2025 Summit. 📣 Call to Action: Stakeholders in the fashion industry must creatively generate value beyond traditional corporate norms. This will help sustain a path where fashion can grow and share values we can all be proud of. 🌱 PANGAIA’s role in shaping change: - Circularity: We’re championing take-back schemes like Rewear, helping our customers to understand how they can get involved. O ur business is grounded in circular principles that aim to give back more than they take to people and planet. - Collaboration: PANGAIA can’t do it alone. Our B2B division – Powered by PANGAIA - is open for collaboration and we’d love to hear from you if your business or brand shares our values. - Next-Gen Materials: These are at the core of our business and the future of fashion, and we remain committed to exploring new materials and apparel technologies that contribute to the wellbeing of current and future generations, in harmony with nature. - 🌍 Positive Earth Mission: Our mission is to give back more than we take, placing the planet and people at the core of our actions. This Summit is a stark reminder that bold actions are needed to shift towards a responsible fashion industry. What were your takeaways from the Global Fashion Summit this year?

Manufy Circular Celebrations was a huge success, and we couldn't be more proud! With over 125 guests sharing positive ideas, we made our case clear: the transition to circular fashion is possible.🎉 Yesterday, on October 17th, we welcomed fashion brands and experts from our supportive network at Fashion for Good in Amsterdam to discuss the future of sustainable fashion. The event featured inspiring talks from Decathlon Nederland, MENDED, Byewaste, and others, focusing on reducing emissions and integrating circular practices like repair and reuse into business models. The panel, moderated by Natasja Van Den Berg, included insightful contributions from Agnes Weber, Bianca Streng, Sofie Schop, and Frouke Bruinsma. As we explored the biggest challenges ahead, it became clear that with the right strategies, scaling circular collaborations and innovations can drive meaningful change in the fashion industry. Key takeaways that all brands can start working with tomorrow: 1) Start with Design: Integrate circularity as a core requirement in the design process. 2) Get the Data: Partner within the industry to share data, learn from each other, and make informed circular decisions. 3) Show How It's Done: One great solution—like repair (MENDED) or direct forwarding of returns (It Goes Forward)—can inspire the industry and get everyone on board. A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation. Let’s keep the momentum going! #CircularCelebrations #Manufy #SustainableFashion #CircularEconomy Nout Knabben Gareth Anderson Hanne Elisabeth P. Time to get circular? The fashion industry is at a pivotal crossroads, currently, the linear model—where clothing is made, worn, and disposed of—contributes to staggering waste and environmental degradation. According to recent studies, the global fashion industry generates around 92 million tons of textile waste annually. In a circular economy, however, the focus shifts to extending the life cycle of garments through design, recycling, and responsible consumption. Here are some key insights: Design for Longevity: Clothing should be made to last, with durable materials and timeless styles that encourage consumers to invest in quality over quantity. Research indicates that if consumers keep clothing for just nine months longer, the environmental impact can decrease by 20-30% in terms of carbon, water, and waste. Embrace Recycling and Upcycling: Implementing robust recycling systems allows for the repurposing of materials, transforming old garments into new products. This reduces the demand for virgin resources and minimizes waste. Brands that prioritize circularity can also create a more engaged customer base, promoting a sense of responsibility and community. Transparency in Supply Chains: Consumers are increasingly seeking brands that are transparent about their production processes. By providing insights into sourcing, manufacturing, and sustainability practices, companies can foster trust and loyalty among their customers. Innovative Business Models: Subscription services, rental platforms, and take-back schemes are gaining traction as consumers look for sustainable alternatives. These models not only reduce waste but also encourage a mindset shift towards sharing and reusing. At The Long Run Club, we are dedicated to leading the charge towards a more sustainable future in fashion. Our ethical teamwear is designed with circular principles in mind, prioritizing longevity and recyclability. By rethinking how we approach clothing, we can collectively make a positive impact on the environment. Let's champion these practices and promote a circular economy in fashion together! #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #EthicalFashion #TheLongRunClub #FashionIndustry #WasteReduction #InnovativeDesign

🌿Why Circular Fashion can be more profitable than traditional retail models? The fashion world is changing. Today, it's all about sustainability and creating garments that last longer, can be recycled, or made into something new. This idea, called circular fashion, is good for the planet and smart for business. 💼 At first, it might seem that spending money on making garments that last longer or can be returned and recycled does not yield a lot of profit. But actually, it opens up new ways to make money, attracts customers who care about the earth, and gets ahead of new rules that demand greener practices. 👁️ People today want to know that the brands they buy from are truly committed to being green and ethical. Circular fashion is a way for brands to show they're serious about this, which can make customers more loyal and keep them coming back. 🔄 To fully embrace circular fashion, brands need to rethink how they operate, from creating their garments to how they sell them. The brands that do this well will be the leaders, showing how fashion can be both sustainable and profitable. 🤔 Have you seen or tried circular fashion business models? 🤔How do you think it can help both our planet and businesses succeed? #CircularFashion #SustainableBusiness #FashionForward
