I feel like with the rise in cloud infrastructure and containerization many people forgot about *nix security basics like: - Permission scoping - Chrooting / Jailing (BSD) - Kernel and bin pruning (although some specialty distros offer bin pruning OOTB now) - Host based firewalls (So many options now!) - Minimizing running services - Configurung remote write-only logging We also have other cool things as well like App Armor and SE Linux (unproven NSA backdoor or not, this is seriously good for the majority of apps) but lets not forget the basics, especially when it's as easy as adding a few lines to your IaC... https://lnkd.in/egyDDue8
