Those who think TN was always a rich state, please stand corrected. After independence TN was 2nd from the bottom and now it is 2nd from the Top. What made the difference inclusive growth policies for the last 60 years.
It’s the Education that made the difference. Credit goes to Mr. Kamaraj for sowing the seeds of education by opening thousands of schools in his tenure.
Suresh Sambandam Hello Sir TN is in 3rd position not 2nd and happy for TN's growth and will be achieving 1st position in future👍🏻 1-Kerala 2-Goa 3-TN
And, it is because of our people’s resolve and progressive government policies that we have risen, despite rampant corruption for several decades!
Suresh Sambandam , sir so before that there was no inclusive policies made in TN? What about between1954 to 1964 ? The foundation was laid between 1954 to 1963
Well done Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, Maharastra, Karnataka that completely flipped around their Poverty Situation for better. J&K, Gujarat, Punjab/HP/Haryana, WB, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Chattisgarh relatively somewhat maintained their Poverty Situation. Rajasthan, MP, UP, Bihar, Assam seem to have gotten worse and lost ground.
The leaders from Tamil Nadu have a unique and clear understanding of socialism, communism, and capitalism, and they have developed a distinctive hybrid economic model to benefit everyone. They intentionally allocate areas for industrial development and agricultural focus, ensuring effective resource utilization while sharing values with the people through socialism. This vision is being carried forward by the next generation of leaders, as Kamarajar, Periyar, and Annadurai are not only influential figures but also great economists and philosophers of their ideology. India missed a significant opportunity by not appointing Dr. Ambedkar as Finance Minister. The last point is crucial: this land consistently nurtures and embraces talent. I am grateful to be here writing and commenting on this world because of Kamaraj's efforts; otherwise, I would likely be working as uneducated labour elsewhere.
Just read about Freight equalization policy then you will get to know why western and southern states developed on the resources of the eastern states ( Which set the momentum carried nowadays as well) and now the same people of those states are being persecuted in the name of language chauvinism.
Rapid advancements in human development have made this achievement possible and will continue to drive excellence in 2025 and beyond. Tamil Nadu’s inclusive policies, initiatives, and reforms in its education system have established the state as a knowledge capital. Beyond its stronghold in manufacturing, Tamil Nadu is experiencing significant growth in the tech sector, marked by the rise of companies like Zoho, Freshworks, and Kissflow. Suresh Sambandam
Thanks for sharing Suresh Sambandam. The data is testimonial to one of the Best models for poverty alleviation. My personal reading is that our Leaders across board consistently & consciously nurtured the culture of everyone getting educated. The society on its part began taking pride in flaunting educational qualifications at social circles amplifying the culture. Now its time to not sit on our laurels but to lay foundation for future generations with the emphasis of quality over quantity.

17hDefinitely we thank the precious Chief ministers Kamarajar, MGR and Jayalalitha for bringing the state as one of the richest and very lowest poverty. Kamarajar built most of the historical dams in Tamil Nadu and built Schools in every village. MGR kept things up with what Kamarajar did and focused on reducing poverty. Jayalalitha madam improved the live status of the people and kept the women are one of the eyes in the country. These three CMs were the gems of Tamil Nadu to become the high status lifestyle.
