Internships are receiving more emphasis in the HEIs. Rightly so. The FYUGP also underscores what internships can achieve through exposing the undergraduates to the real world-of-work-challenges early on. What matters sure is the quality of the internship experience, and the follow up. As locations of internships vary, so does the takeaways too. It is equally important that the students who undergo Internship experiences are oriented as to the objectives and outcomes. At LEAD College of Management, an Internship Viva was conducted for those students who were back from their stints as interns to take stock of the outcomes. The fact that the viva was conducted with 20 Interview Panels, each of which included external industry experts, speaks volumes about the intent of the effort. The feedback from the viva, both from the interns and the external members of the panel, were rich enough to further strengthen the internship exercise.
