But how do you measure it ...? Interesting Purchasing article about how to focus on your supplier relationships, and how to measure them. Most solutions are well known, but the article adds the idea of also considering measures like "innovation in products or services". I like the idea, but I wonder how you measure it. I guess it's not a measurable KPI, more a subjective score like bad / average / good? https://lnkd.in/ddEN4f75

😍 "My supplier is strategic. We should definitely include them in the SRM program". 😲 "So that's 187 strategic suppliers that we have in our SRM program?" Lots of buyers think that THEIR suppliers are strategic. It's human nature to want to feel important. The fact is that MOST suppliers AREN'T strategic to your business. They'll number probably less than 1% of the total. Strategic suppliers are those that can make a real difference to you achieving your organisational objectives. Those that help you enter new markets, bring you new innovation or allow you access to their patented game-changing technology. Your Procurement resources are finite. SRM is a big resource commitment. Focus your resources where you can get most value.
