My inbox was overflowing this morning with people sending me Pierre Herubel's post. And for good reason! You don't need a podcast as a B2B marketer in 2024, but I bet if you don't people are going to be asking why. Not only is it an amazing cost effective long term investment, your podcast will drastically lower the cost of other things. 1. YouTube ads? Run a short of your flagship clients talking about their success. 2. Outbound ABM? Make a list of your dream clients and bring them on the podcast. One client could pay for the whole project. One a quarter will get you promoted. 3. Tack the podcast onto an event. It's easier to do a podcast recording than slides. Changes up the format as well. 4. Linkedin Posts? Obviously. Add on all your social shorts to that as well. *** and a not mentioned bonus *** 5. Long form SEO articles. Keep track of your topics and after your first 12 episodes start keeping sections you can add to your top performing pieces. Either new snippets of text to update, or adding in video. 5.b. Plan the episodes to be able to use the transcripts in skyscraper techniques with interviews from various experts etc. TL;DR Keep rolling your podcasts up to get more and more yield. P.S. Since I'm not launching in stealth mode, we have room for 2 more podcasts on boarding in March, MAYBE 3 if you're coming in prepared. I haven’t published any new podcast episodes since December. Took a 3 months pause. but ….. I am ready to shoot some fire content now I switched my full-time role in January and had some side projects, so I paused briefly. Maybe it wasn’t technically a pause as I was still recording, but simply not publishing. Now, I am about to be back with some bangers. From next week, you’ll get 1 episode released every week. Low-cost long-form and short-form B2B marketing strategy 👇 Start with a list of 10 questions your prospects frequently ask. Pick a long-form medium, like a video podcast. Grab your smartphone, no need for high-end equipment. Sit down with your subject-matter expert. Discuss the 10 questions and related topics for an hour. Take it easy for the first 15 minutes. Laugh, joke, be human. Edit the recordings. Remove the unnecessary bits, the umms and ahhs. Turn them into two 20-minute podcast episodes. Create thirty 30-second snippets. Post one every day (yes, also on weekends) for a month on email, social media, or your website. Then do it all over again. Any B2B company can pull this off without breaking the bank.
