The CMS Companies are excited to share the launch of our new Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, which allows employees to take paid time off to support a local organization of their choice. We believe that community involvement not only strengthens individuals but also the systems that uplift us all. Recently, Louise from our accounting department volunteered with Mama’s Kitchen in San Diego, CA. This remarkable organization provides nutritional support to San Diego residents at risk of malnutrition due to critical illnesses. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, businesses, and community supporters, Mama’s Kitchen delivers medically tailored meals and nutrition education to help clients stay healthy, maintain dignity, and support their families—all at no cost. Here’s what Louise had to say about her experience: “This was a great experience and something I have wanted to participate in for a long time. With my girls older and the VTO program the company started, I plan on volunteering more in the community.” We’re inspired by Louise’s story and look forward to seeing more volunteers step forward across our organization and the local community. VSC Awarded Grant for Volunteering for Health Programme We are excited to share that Bexley Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) has been awarded a grant as part of the £10 million Volunteering for Health Programme. This initiative, in partnership with NHS England, NHS Charities Together, and CW+, aims to harness the power of volunteering to enhance health and social care services both nationally and locally. BVSC is one of 15 partnerships across the UK selected for this funding. Our efforts will focus on co-designing pathways, building a robust volunteering infrastructure, and offering diverse volunteering opportunities. We are committed to making volunteering accessible and inclusive, particularly for underrepresented groups, to help reduce health inequalities. Duncan Burton, Chief Nursing Officer for England, stated: "Volunteers, as partners with our skilled staff, make a significant contribution across NHS and care services and positively impact the lives of many people. This programme will further harness the power of volunteering for the benefit of patients, staff, and communities." 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞! 💙 The Aviso Specialty team is proud to announce that Back Pack 4 Vic Kids has received a £5,000 ACT Community Grant to support their vital work providing essential items to children entering emergency care, often with just the clothes they're wearing. This funding will provide: ⭐ 79 My Essentials Packs ⭐ 188 Youth Outreach Packs ⭐ Support for a Guinness World Record attempt to procure 4,000 backpacks and duffle bags. ⭐ Ongoing commitment to the establishment of a tiny site—a specially fitted-out shipping container that allows emergency organisations quick access to essential packs in regional areas. From humble beginnings helping 540 children in 2012, BP4VK now supports over 6,300 children annually. Each pack includes toiletries, underwear, pyjamas, clothing, books, toys, activities, blankets, and comfort items. They also provide Santa Sacks at Christmas, school supplies for children suddenly changing schools, and support for those sleeping rough. Since September 2023, the Aviso Specialty VIC team has been volunteering monthly at their warehouse, packing emergency care packs and Santa Sacks. With over 16,000 Victorian children in out-of-home care on any given night, and numbers growing by 17% yearly, this support is more crucial than ever. Proud to partner with an organisation that is making a real difference. 🎒 #CommunitySupport #Volunteering #GivingBack #MakingADifference #ArdonaghCommunityTrust #AvisoSpecialty #EnvestGroup

2 years clean! Two years ago, I spent a few minutes removing a lot of graffiti from this National Cycle Network sign in Edinburgh city centre to make it legible again. Since then I’ve been noticing how long it has stayed clean. That’s my kind of fun - one year was exciting enough but two years has almost blown my tiny mind. This is the power of microvolunteering – a small act can have a big impact. It’s something Sustrans has been building into their spectrum of volunteering for some time through Quick Ways to Volunteer, and now through the Action Team (https://lnkd.in/ew7VdvP5). Because it’s something more people are looking for in their volunteering. As a recent article on flexible volunteering in Pro Bono Economics reminds us, time pressures are the biggest barrier for charities engaging volunteers - “In a changing world, where people are constantly being pulled in so many different directions, the sector needs to harness its flexible and adaptable nature in its approach to volunteer recruitment and retention – because that’s what volunteers are seeking. Potential volunteers want to see flexible opportunities and assurances that they can give back to their communities in small ways at first, which don’t overwhelm their already stretched time.” And, yes, I know, I missed a bit of the purple paint. Maybe I’ll find a few minutes more for that. #microvolunteering #lovols #volunteering

Every child deserves the dignity of a full meal, yet thousands of children living in slums go to bed hungry every night. At Voice of Slum, we believe that food is not a privilege—it’s a fundamental human right. Through our Feed the Slum initiative, we strive to ensure that no child has to suffer the pangs of hunger. By delivering nutritious meals to children and families in need, we aim to fill not just their stomachs but also their hearts with hope. Your support can make a significant difference. Each meal provided is a step toward eliminating hunger and ensuring these children can dream without the worry of an empty stomach. Together, we can fight hunger and create a better future for these young souls. Join us in this mission of compassion and change. Be the reason a child smiles today—because a well-fed child is a child with a future. . . . #voiceofslum #hunger #poverty #donate #nonprofitsupport #nonprofitorganization #change #inspire #helpothers . . . More than 800 square metres of VicTrack-owned land in the heart of Brunswick has been transformed into a high production urban farm, where The Big Umbrella Foundation grows fresh produce to go into 700 meals served to people experiencing food insecurity or homelessness each week. The farm was made possible through a VicTrack community lease that enables The Big Umbrella Foundation to put the previously underused railway land to good use – bringing our assets to life. Watch The Big Umbrella Foundation’s Victoria Wilson explain how their long-term partnership with VicTrack is bringing real benefit to people who need it. Earlier this year a team of our employees pitched in to prepare meals at The Big Umbrella Foundation’s Brunswick Emergency Food Relief Centre and served them at Federation Square as part of the Big Umbrella Foundation’s corporate volunteering program. We support our people to give back to the community by providing five days of volunteer leave each year.
