Did your phone ever ring at 6:30 am with a sales cold call? It happened to me today! The SDR didn’t miss a beat when I asked them if they were aware of the time. They quickly apologized for failing to notice my location and time zone, explained they were on the east coast, and…. WENT ON WITH THE PITCH! 🤯😤❌ I totally understand you need to meet your quota. I totally understand you have a drive and eagerness and passion for selling your product. But for the love of everything holy - If you called a prospect accidentally at 6:30 am and got called on it - you apologize, say you’ll try again later, and hang up!!! #sdr #sales

During my initial months as an SDR, I learned valuable lessons that shaped my approach to sales. Here are the top 3 takeaways: 1. Sales is simple but not easy. It requires constant effort, training, and focus. Avoid the trap of thinking "sales is easy," as this mindset hinders improvement and perseverance. 2. Sales is a numbers game. Maintaining call volume is crucial. A 26% drop in calls over 3 months led me to miss hundreds of prospects, significantly impacting my productivity. 3. Focus on building value in your solution. Engage prospects by emphasizing the importance of your product rather than solely pushing partnerships or integrations.
