Importance of Internships at high school It is a pure serendipity when skill matches experience ; love matches faith ; academics matches co curriculars and sportive spirit matches academic rigor but how does this magic happen ? At an interschool level when students put their first step while emerging from juniors to seniors, everyday is a red letter day. While we work to adapt ourselves to that - time flies! and we miss out things we probably should haven't. Internships and engagements are what these things are ! Internships are not just a beginning of our professional life rather they are the resources of students which teach them lessons, a big company at adulthood would probably never. It provides a sense of realization of what's real and what the world around demands from other people. The truth is Cozy life doing homeworks and completing notebooks would fetch marks, not experiences. Its time to understand what truly matters and how unnecessary stuff that could be an evil for your bright future bother you all the time! Remember, Life is always a choice not imposition -Written by Shristi Dutt Mishra #internships #highschool #experience #skills #career #learning #growth #opportunity #future #success

Internship credit refers to academic credit that students can earn by completing an internship as part of their educational program. Colleges and universities often allow students to participate in internships, which are typically work experiences related to their field of study, and receive credit towards their degree requirements. Here's how it generally works: Eligibility and Approval: Students usually need to get approval from their academic department before starting an internship. The internship must meet certain criteria, such as being related to the student's major or academic goals. Learning Objectives: The student may need to set learning objectives or goals for what they hope to achieve through the internship. These objectives are often reviewed by a faculty advisor. Work Hours: Students are typically required to work a certain number of hours at the internship to earn credit. The number of hours needed can vary by program. Academic Assignments: To receive credit, students may need to complete assignments, such as writing a reflection paper, keeping a journal of their experiences, or creating a final report that ties their internship experience to academic theories or concepts. Evaluation: The internship supervisor at the organization where the student is interning often provides feedback on the student's performance, which may be factored into the student's grade. Credit Hours: The amount of credit awarded usually depends on the number of hours worked and the academic requirements fulfilled. It might be equivalent to a standard course or vary depending on the program. Internship credit allows students to gain practical experience in their field while making progress toward their degree. #Mytagapp #councelling #career #educationsystem #indian #GrowthMindset #grow #careercounselling #internship #letsconnect #letconnect

As I transition into pre-registration advising for Spring 2025, I find myself referencing this graphic with frequency. I originally created it for a training session, but find myself pulling it inot more and more conversations and presentations as time goes on. I am reminding my students that we are all our best selves when we balance motivating stress (an achievable challenge) and demotivating stress (a challenge not easily reached without substantial support) and encouraging them to consider what challenges they are facing and will face in coming semesters in order to somewhat pre-plan what support might be needed to succeed in these challenges. This could be classes, clubs, personal growth, internships, and much more. Being challenged is motivating, but only as motivating as what we feel capable of achieving. This is why I love my campus so much - we have a ton of support available for when a challenge goes beyond our personal skillset, and we strive to make those resources and support accessible and non-intimidating -- all while integrating them into a student's first semester experience! #academicadvising #academicsupport #wellbeing

Societies v/s Internship? Welcome to the first part of this awaited elaborate series on all your opportunity costs as a college student. Let's discuss the nuances to help you make the best decision! Let's get started with societies today. Are they helpful? Yes. Are you doomed if you don't get into a good one? Absolutely not. Here's what societies help you get: -> Networking with like minded juniors & seniors in first year -> Good societies help in shortlisting for campus opportunities -> Most convenient way to build your POR section Didn't see me mention skills? Well, most of what you'd learn through societies can be learnt through internships & other opportunities (More on that in coming posts) But societies definitely help you bridge the gap from school to college. All in all, while they're a good value add, it certainly depends on the society itself. Unless it's a Tier 1 society or a value additive Tier 2 society, I'd suggest to just stick to one society and explore opportunities beyond conventional ones. Don't self reject yourself or develop a bias. Instead apply first -> get selected -> Experience it -> Evaluate if it's worth it -> Make the call to continue or not Your college life isn't coming back once gone, make the best use of it now! #linkedin #linkedinforcreators #societies #internships #srcc #ayushmaanbhatra

Here at the Monarch Internship and Co-Op Office, we are focused on supporting 100% of #odu students and their internship journey. How do they persist in their internship? Do they have reliable transportation? Stable Housing? Money for gas or a bus pass? How do we help student athletes who might have very busy training schedules? How do we help our online students to prepare for a virtual or hybrid #internship? In order to truly integrate work based learning into the student academy journey, we must consider the barriers and incorporate innovative strategies to overcome them! #business #economy #highereducation #workbasedlearning https://lnkd.in/eGTjkRM5
