While it’s powerful and feature-rich, it has a steeper learning curve and isn't as customizable or fast as Reaper for podcast editing. Despite this, it's still a solid option for professional editors. ❌ Pro Tools Why it didn’t place #1: Pro Tools is a world-class DAW widely used in film and music production. It’s perfect for high-end studios with advanced equipment but it’s overkill for podcast editors. I just can't repeat this enough... Good recording actually makes for better video editing. Why? Practicing what you're going to say means when you record, you'll make fewer mistakes which means less need to edit. Knowing your lighting set up means you don't have to try to fix the lighting in editing. And, actually stopping when you make a mistake, so you can start over cleanly means making that edit is easier and faster. Thinking about your end goal makes your editing easier. Of course, if you're repurposing that long-form video, adding logos, intros or outros, you will still need to edit some. But it'll be so much easier to hand it over with full confidence and your editor will love you for it 😉 What do you do to make your recording go smoothly?
