【#MPFAReminder What to do at the Dragon Boat Festival】 The Dragon Boat Festival is coming soon! It's crunch time to plan how you'll celebrate the day! You can either watch a Dragon Boat race from the sidelines or embrace the festival spirit and take a dip in the water to cool down from the summer heat💦! The period leading up to a holiday is always a hectic time for HR. That's why the #MPFA would like to give a timely reminder to all employers and HR practitioners – the #MPF Contribution Day for May will be postponed to 11 Jun due to a public holiday. 📅Be sure to take care of this early to avoid any delays in making contributions and enjoy your holiday! The #eMPF is set to be launched on 26 Jun, with the first MPF scheme joining the eMPF on that day. The remaining MPF schemes will be added to the eMPF one by one during the following 18 months. Q&A FOR BUSINESS OWNERS & HR PROFESSIONALS – WITH BOND HR QUESTION: I have an employee who has been off for a considerable period of time with mental health issues however, he has now returned to work but refuses to sign any occupational health consent form to allow us to make any necessary adjustments in the workplace. His last doctor’s certificate expired weeks ago, should we force the issue with him to get an understanding of his issues? ANSWER: No, if his medical certification has expired then he is fit to return to work, we cannot force him to get one or sign an occupational health consent form. What I would suggest is that you or his director meet with him & his line manager to understand if there are any underlying issues, if he needs additional support or if he feels the company need to make adjustments or changes. He should then be monitored regularly but I appreciate this is difficult. Let’s discuss in more detail when we meet up.
