This week, Xenial Events L.L.C. managed parallel shows across different cities and venues, including the 2024 Global Aerospace Summit at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. Just as the evolution of aerospace reflects humanity’s quest for exploration, the event industry charts its path through creativity and connection. In aviation’s early days, each flight was a bold leap into the unknown, much like how every gathering in the event industry pushes boundaries to connect people. As aircraft evolved from fragile contraptions to sophisticated machines, the event landscape transformed from simple gatherings into immersive experiences that leverage technology and storytelling. Both fields thrive on innovation; aerospace engineers refine designs for efficiency while event planners adapt to trends that enhance engagement. Just as the aerospace industry aims for the skies, the event industry aspires to elevate experiences and forge connections that inspire change. #AerospaceSummit

Aviation - 'Airport Exhibition & Unfair Advantage' Have you ever heard the term 'an unfair advantage'? What does it really mean? Google says; Quote: An “unfair advantage” in business refers to a distinct competitive edge or advantage that a company possesses, giving it an upper hand over its rivals in the market. This advantage is often considered unfair because it goes beyond what is commonly available or accessible to competitors. Unquote. ☆☆☆☆☆ Attended the "Saudi Airport Exhibition 2024" with reportedly over 200 companies participating in the event; showcasing their latest products and services' offerings to industry players, clients, #businessowners, #consultants, #airlines, etc in the Saudi and the aviation #gulf market (if not #global aviation industry). By participating in this year #Saudi Airport Exhibition; these 200 companies have come and exhibit their 'unfair advantages' over their rivals (those companies who did not participate in this event). Saw radical☆☆☆☆☆ improvements from last year's event: ☆It seems more foreign companies participating including from Europe, China, etc. ☆ More local companies' presence ☆Previously less known brands have come to surface with wide variety of products under one roof ☆Latest airport #technology like #radar for #tracking #wildlife #birds and #drones that caught my eyes ☆One-stop airport solutions company displayed their #cuttingedge technology ☆#airport #consultants (global and regional) ☆#VR, #AI #innovations ☆#airport #seats #furniture ☆#airlines #hospitality #booths ☆etc. ☆Merrier, more vibrant and higher #energy Congratulations to the Saudi Airport Exhibition organisers (and participants)! for making this event meaningful; where networking done in record time (in 2 mins! for me at least), knowledge sharings took place and; hopefully more future opportunities created. ~Met with Egis Dubai colleague at Egis booth. With the towering height of 6ft or more this definitely gives the unfair advantage over 5 footer like me. Lol. But that's perfectly OK. My pleasure in meeting you Ghizlane L.! #airport #exhibition #knowledgesharing #networking

Making airshows sustainable; both commercially and environmentally. That was my answer to the question, 'what is the biggest challenge the airshow industry are facing?'. It actually applies to all organisations, not just airshows. The project I delivered for the British Air Display Association [BADA] used my tried and tested methodology. This is based on the marketing and growth strategy that I developed at the Air Tattoo. And can you can use this too: The first stage of this process is, - Analyse the data you have about your customers/audience - Understand the wider environment and where you fit - What trends and changes are taking place - Do you need more data/evidence? And the conclusion was YES. We needed more data to prove how important airshows are as a route into the science, technology, engineering and maths careers (STEM) as well as aviation, aerospace and defence. We have it anecdotally, but we need the data. The evidence to prove the airshow industry is a multi million pound marketing and recruitment campaign for STEM careers. We do this by delivering exciting and inspiring events. Once we have the evidence we can unlock the sponsorship to financially support the future of airshows. We discussed this and more on the 'Future of Airshows' panel at the recent European Airshow council convention. I joined Joe McGrath, Chris Crockford, Marcus Jannitto, Kevin Elliot (Pacific Airshow) and Sebastian Schwab on the panel. Excellently moderated by Fahad ibne Masood, MRAeS, MBA-Av.Mgmt. What are your views on the future of airshows, are they important, how can we make sure the survive? ______________________________ I'm the founder of International Airshows and Aviation Marketing, helping develop strategies to make your organisation commercially and environmentally sustainable. I also post video of aircraft whenever I can! Drop me a message if you think I can help. #Aviation #AvGeek #MarketingStrategy

#Singapore #Airshow - Record numbers at Singapore Airshow as post-COVID boom raises hopes, from Reuters News Agency: Record numbers attended the trade section of the first fully post-pandemic Singapore Airshow this week, with exhibitors and delegates optimistic about the aviation industry despite suppliers' struggles to keep up with rebounding travel demand. Close to 60,000 people attended the four trade days of the show, nearly four times as many as in 2022 when foreign visitors required daily rapid tests for COVID-19, and more than the 54,000 who visited in 2018. The 2020 edition was rocked by last-minute cancellations as the virus spread around the world. Outside Asia's largest air show, transport problems snarled arrivals and departures, especially during the first days. On Tuesday, lines for free shuttle buses to the Expo public transport hub led to waits as long as three hours in temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) and taxis to the city cost as much as three times the usual fare. "'Worst transport experience': Crawling traffic, long waits for rides frustrate Singapore Airshow visitors", ran a headline in local newspaper the Straits Times. Leck Chet Lam, managing director of show organiser Experia, blamed "higher attendance than in previous editions". In the air-conditioned display space, commercial exhibitors hawked planes, drones, surveillance technology, services and equipment. The displays attracted buyers and enthusiasts, with the Korea Aerospace Industries (047810.KS), booth drawing a line on Wednesday for attendees to get pilots' autographs and pose for selfies. More than 1,000 commercial and defence companies from 50 countries participated in the show, organisers said. Russian companies did not take part amid the war in Ukraine but Israeli companies Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, which dropped out of the Dubai Airshow in November amid the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, attended. "The general mood is extremely positive but also very demanding," said Dennis Kohr, head of corporate sales Asia-Pacific for aircraft maintenance provider Lufthansa Technik Group. 𝗗𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗘? In a few days the 23rd edition of annual #EBACE takes place at the Palexpo in Geneva hosted by European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and National Business Aviation Association. The main concept is about a trade show within #businessaviation, mainly business to business and a static display presenting latest #privatejet models. Since its inception in year 2000 the show always took place at Geneva airport having the convenience of an static display for aircraft at the airport, a large multi-hall exhibition and conference center all within walking distance. I have personally attended more than a dozen of these events. My question is whether we still need such a format or whether the time has come for a change. The show has certainly constantly improved and has become better and better over the years. However, this has been more of an iterative improvement process than an evolution. I strongly think the format is at its end hence neither one of our GlobeAir #DreamTeam nor me are attending this year. My observation over the last few years has been that more and more well-known #bizav companies and service providers are pulling out and no longer exhibiting, for various reasons, hugely driven by exploding costs. This year well known #businessjet OEMs Bombardier and Gulfstream Aerospace pulled out too. I know #EBAA is appreciating those signals and evaluating future options but nothing materialised yet. My very personal opinion is that this current format is at its end and a totally new approach is very much needed. Our business avation industry still speaks too much within the peer group, but for my taste more visibility to the end user and the public is needed to demonstrate the multiple values this industry brings to society and the #economy. What are my peers thinking about this?
