Happy to announce Saga (saga.so) 1.0! 🥳 Saga is the simple workspace to write and collaborate on notes, docs, and tasks with AI. It is collaborative, super fast ⚡, and has nice linking that helps you navigate and organize your work much better. The products that we use every day are often too slow, clunky, and stand in our way. We wanted to build something better for ourselves and focused a lot on creating a fast, minimalist AI product that doesn’t hinder productivity and just works. Our early prototype was picked up by productivity enthusiasts and, surprisingly, a lot of people playing Dungeons and Dragons who loved connecting their knowledge across game sessions. Since then, we've made Saga collaborative, added task management, integrations, and launched Saga AI - our integrated AI assistant. Now, the app is used by more than 40,000 users, with hundreds of teams relying on Saga every week as their single source of truth for team knowledge. AI is changing things very quickly, and our documents are the perfect place to use AI as our assistant, to "talk" to our knowledge, and even take actions across different tools that we use every day. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻? 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆? I’ve been reading a lot about how design has changed and will inevitably evolve with AI’s proliferation across industries. Throughout design’s history, there have been moments where humans feared being replaced by technology, but that fear feels more palpable now than ever. Automating design, replacing the human touch that infuses empathy and humanity into complex software, may or may not succeed in delivering meaningful results. I’m seeing product management roles expand to include designer responsibilities, much like developers often take on both the design and build. While this versatility undeniably saves companies money, does it truly equate to quality, due diligence, or provide an ultimate benefit to the user? That remains to be seen. The message for designers is clear: adapt, or risk being left behind. I’m not sounding an alarm of doom, but today’s AI tools might very well replace many of us in the foreseeable future.
