Connect to breath, slow it down. Connect to body….where do you feel tension? Stay with that feeling. Place your hand there or experiment with very slow mindful movements. Reflect; what is present? Be aware of emotions, memories, images. Allow your understanding of your tension to deepen. Be your own compassionate witness. Body centred approach’s to psychotherapy such as Hakomi(Ron Kurtz) emphasis’ a gentle mindful approach to body work, slowly becoming aware of sensation, emotion and body movement. In this way we can provide a foundation to work with deeper unconscious material in a compassionate way….gently, respectfully and at our own pace. #jodrewmovementpsychotherapist #movementismedicine Art- Marinko Saric

The Wheel of Emotions, created by psychologist Robert Plutchik, visually represents human emotions and their interconnections. It includes eight primary emotions: joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, and anticipation. These can combine to form secondary emotions like love (joy + trust) or awe (fear + surprise). This tool helps people recognize and articulate their feelings, enhancing emotional literacy and self-awareness. It's widely used in therapy, education, and personal growth. #EmotionalIntelligence #MentalHealth #SelfAwareness #Emotions #Therapy #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalLiteracy

If you’re not loving your story, do you know why? There’s something shared across all the extremes of our life stories - it is the creation of our perception. It *is* our perception. And it can change. Be it moments of pleasure, pain, addiction, conflict, celebration, or sabotage. Perception underpin the masterpiece and the crisis. And the capacity for each moment to be a turning point in either direction. 🌀 The voice you’re hearing is that of Robin Lockhart, who speaks having walked with people struggling into their worlds, their dead ends and ditches, and witnessed the sometimes immediate and revolutionary shift that can occur with a bit of seeding and pruning... giving the frame of reference a bit of a shake up. And that all this can occur through conversation. These have been worlds of abuse, incarceration, addiction, violence, poverty, isolation, indoctrination, business, music, politics, and riches. The art comes in reaching through the story - connection. 🍁 Robin offers sessions and workshops to bring our perception into awareness, and shape it into one that fruits more alchemy, and less suffering. With 25 years refining his practice amongst marginalised communities, and mentoring many others in theirs through his organisation Catalyst in Communities....he’s probably seen it before. We will be posting info for a range of opportunities to work with Robin, designed to meet you where you’re at, and forge whatever’s next. And if you can’t wait, get in touch via Robin Lockhart (linktr.ee/robinlockhart) 🌿 And if this little clip helped you, please show us some pro-algorithmic love - maybe it will help someone else too. 🕊️ ✨ Artwork by Molly Tabitha Hickey @mollyth.art ✨ #theartofperception #WellBeingCoach #MindsetMatters #ArtCollaboration #CreativeMindset #ArtForWellness #WellnessWorkshop #MindfulArt #ArtAndSoul #CreateAndConnect #ArtAndMindset #WellnessThroughArt #CreativeWellBeing #ArtTherapy #InspireThroughArt

Pursuing your passions involves listening to your body and following through despite the fear, the anxiety and the possibilities of being judged. There is so much duality in performance arts that moves you towards building safety in your body to be more of yourself in this world. To reach this state of coherence may be exactly what your body needs to heal. My standup comedy is the result of somatic healing in the body. I love how my worlds are colliding and I can’t wait to continue to combine expressive arts, somatic healing, and trauma recovery. #somatic #expressivearts #creativity #performancearts #somatichealing

The Healing Power of Art: A Path to Better Mental Health Creating art is a uniquely human activity that offers numerous health benefits, both mentally and physically. According to Girija Kaimal, Professor of Art Therapy Research at Drexel University, engaging in creative self-expression can reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-confidence. In her research, Kaimal has found that activities such as drawing, painting, and even woodworking or photography activate reward pathways in the brain, releasing dopamine and fostering a sense of accomplishment and well-being. Art therapy, a specialized field that emerged during the 20th century to help soldiers with post-traumatic stress, provides nonverbal ways to process and manage trauma. By allowing individuals to express feelings they might not have words for, art therapy helps regain a sense of control and agency. Kaimal emphasizes that creativity is essential for human health, comparable to exercise or a nutritious diet. She encourages everyone to engage in creative pursuits regularly, as they are critical to maintaining mental health and navigating life's challenges. #MentalHealth #ArtTherapy #CreativeExpression #WellBeing #StressRelief #MentalWellness #HealingThroughArt https://lnkd.in/eEfPChi9
