Steve O'Donoghue FCPFA’s Post

Well, LinkedIn world, I shall be taking an extended break in the New Year as I hit 35 years of working in the public sector. In a career that's covered local government, national parks, central government, supporting the Welsh Parliament, public sector audit and public body leadership, one thing has stood out in every place I've worked: the people. Still friends with some from every place, and a special mention for Rachel Roberts who taught me how to do filing in my first council job in 1990, I am chuffed to have worked with so many talented, hard-working, lovely people over the years, including those in the wonderful CIPFA family. Whilst how we work has changed with time, and will continue to, the importance of collaboration, helping and caring for each other certainly hasn't. The sum is greater than its parts, and it's that sum that makes a difference to our communities and country. Thank you to all of you who've made the journey so enjoyable, including the knowledge, camaraderie and good humour shared here on LinkedIn.
