Sterke Hydraulic Supports for SPMT in use in Eemshaven! (See 3D drawing of the Support in comments). It is great to see our Sterke Hydraulic Supports in use in Eemshaven during off-loading of Monopiles for the Danish Thor Offshore Windfarm project by RWE. Our Sterke A/S engineering team designed the supports in collaboration with our customers needs for Monopile diameter, conical shape and weight – in this case more than 1200 tons! Some of the benefits you get from using Sterke Hydraulic Supports: - Optimum hydraulic distribution of load towards MP - Can be integrated with SMPT hydraulic system - Modular and conus adaptable - Easy on/off loading due to hydraulic knees - Sterke Hydraulic Supports secures safe transport all the way Do not hesitate to contact us for more information. #Sterke #RWE #Thor #OffshoreWind
We continue to lay the foundations for the upcoming construction of our Thor project, set to become Denmark’s to date largest offshore wind farm with an installed capacity of more than 1 GW. And I mean this quite literally, as the first batch of monopile foundations were recently delivered to the Eemshaven port in the Netherlands, where they’ll be safely stored until their scheduled installation next year. With lengths up to 100 meters and weighing 1,500 tonnes, each monopile weighs as much as 1,000 small cars. Storing and transporting these massive foundations requires significant space, specialized equipment, and technical expertise – a challenge in itself. Therefore, it is great that we could once again secure the facilities of Buss Terminal Eemshaven. Its operator Buss Ports also supported RWE during the construction of our Kaskasi wind farm. In spring 2025, all 72 foundations will be shipped to the Thor construction site, located about 22 kilometers off the west coast of Jutland in the Danish North Sea. Once in operation, which is planned no later than the end of 2027, the wind farm will supply green electricity to the equivalent of over 1 million Danish households. I’m very much looking forward to seeing this project come to life, and especially to continue working with our Danish #TeamRWE.
