Immersive cooling on the rise - energy, carbon and cost CAN be lowered effectively. The narrative that explains the cost savings included in employing greener technology, is most definitely growing. A great article from GRC explains what I’ve known for a short while, immersive cooling can represent 50% savings - real opex back in your coffers AND drastically reduced floorspace required in Data centres/MCR’s. Some take-aways/questions from this article from my POV - Talking regularly to many broadcast and media companies in the UK, EU and US, I don’t feel that these solutions are even on their radar, and so not being considered in many media refresh budgets. Mainly due to the recent rush-to-the-cloud scenario. Itself providing further issues of provable energy and carbon reports from cloud providers, with little consistency to speak of. Can we see proof of incremental change that is allegedly coming from governmental green policy, not just the political hot-air (immersive technology could capture and heat several swimming pools, if applied to our politicians!)? Data is ever more important in tackling climate change, but estimates are still rife within ESG structured reporting. The Paris accord was nearly ten years ago, and there's still only one region (EU) with an implemented holistic legislation to reduce carbon, via stringent guidelines, scoped reporting and potential financial penalty? But even with CSRD, where is the scrutiny on granular data? Efforts of regions outside of EU/UK/US are potentially enlightening in this article, not something I think we hear about given the geopolitical issues of the last few years, where rhetoric is important to force a remembrance of who the physical and economic threats are being created by. “The number one country in terms of renewable energy is China” ! ....But how are these claims being consistently, independently, measured and qualified? https://lnkd.in/eTeYftnJ The truth is, we don’t need politicians to spin what is or isn’t being done to their own advantage, if we allow the data to speak for itself. This is yet another solution that will provide accurate truth in data. So many benefits of having our own panel building department. We used to have them constructed outside, but the costs became too great, and getting changes completed took days, whereas now it takes hours. Additionally, any changes to panels are now done with cost control for our customers. When changes were done outside, costs were astronomical.
