How is Kong Inc. driving the future of APIs;) By offering a unified approach along with a control plane that manages all runtime environments—including service meshes, ingress controllers, and gateways—this strategy delivers a distinct "end-to-end experience." Kong's Konnect platform now includes API portals, catalogs, advanced analytics, and tools for API monetization. "We are not just a 'bit-moving' company," stated Pillai, emphasizing that Kong supports the entire API lifecycle on a single platform. https://lnkd.in/gjhPtCDW

☕ Espresso: Shared Sequencers for Seamless Layer-2 Scaling ⛓⛓ Layer-2 (L2) solutions, such as rollups, have emerged as a vital tool for scaling Ethereum by handling transaction execution off-chain while maintaining the security of the Ethereum mainnet (Layer-1). Rollups provide users with significant benefits, including low latency, high throughput, quick confirmations, and reduced gas fees. However, these advantages come with certain trade-offs. 🚧 Challenges with Current Rollup Solutions: Centralization of Sequencers: ▶ Currently, most L2 rollups rely on centralized sequencers, which, while efficient, introduce potential vulnerabilities such as liveness issues and the risk of censorship. ▶ If a centralized sequencer fails or is compromised, the entire rollup could face operational challenges, potentially leaving users unable to transact. Interoperability Issues: ▶ Rollups, by design, do not naturally interoperate with each other, leading to fragmentation in user bases and liquidity pools 🌐 The Role of Shared Sequencers To address these challenges, the concept of shared sequencers has been introduced, with providers like Espresso playing a crucial role. A shared sequencer network allows multiple rollups to share the same sequencing resources, leading to several key benefits: 1️⃣ Atomic Cross-Rollup Transactions: 2️⃣ Enhanced Interoperability 💡 Conclusion Espresso and other shared sequencer providers are pioneering solutions that address the inherent challenges of rollups, particularly those related to centralization and interoperability. Interested in how shared sequencers could revolutionize L2 scaling? Let’s chat!

Anthropic ups the API ante with a new "assistant" integration protocol that offers resources, prompts, and tools to its LLM. The assistant can also "sample" the LLM to try to refine its behavior. Will the other big LLM vendors support this? Will this API scale? Many holes and weaknesses in this API as it seems rushed out the door... ICYMI, even the most sophisticated models are constrained by their isolation from data. Model Context Protocol, or MCP for short ostensibly solves this problem through a protocol that enables developers to build two-way connections between data sources and AI-powered applications. Developers can expose data through “MCP servers” and build “MCP clients”, for instance, apps and workflows — that connect to those servers on command. Companies, including Apollo YCW16, have already integrated MCP into their systems. https://lnkd.in/g5dxZh56
