🎉 Celebrating my one-year anniversary at Datadog on the Customer Success team today! Thinking back to my first day of training in NYC, I remember feeling a wave of emotions—unsure if I’d be good enough, wondering if I could excel in a performance-driven role, and constantly thinking that everyone around me was way smarter (they probably were!). It was overwhelming, but also surreal to be flown out to New York, put up in a hotel, and experience the full scale of what Datadog offers (not to mention the view from the NYC office!) Onboarding wasn’t without its challenges, and it took me a while to find my rhythm. There were moments where I struggled, questioning how to navigate the new environment and expectations. But thanks to the guidance of incredible leaders like Jordan Cooke, MBA, Sheri Williams, Maura Imel Paskerian, and the support from my teammates, I found my way and ended up doing better than I initially expected. One piece of advice from a mentor stuck with me: "If you believe you’re unworthy of success, it will feel scary and exposing. But if you believe you belong, success becomes exciting and opens doors to even more opportunities." That perspective shift helped me embrace the challenges as part of the journey, rather than something to be afraid of. I’m genuinely excited for what the future holds—for our team, our department, and Datadog as a whole. don't let his humility deceive you; Zyad's side-projects are run with more precision, discipline, and structure than most people's full-time projects... not too long ago we worked on Course Finder together and despite it being a project built by students for students, the grind was relentless, and there was no rest - weekly sprints inside Linear, Slack dev automations, twice-weekly check-ins, moving fast and getting stuff done... whether it's "official" or not, put your all into everything you do. you'll get far further this way, and learn 10x as much success doesn't come from half-measures - it comes from going all in, every single time. have conviction in whatever you do, and let it be meaningful to you; this way, even if things don't work out, you'll walk away with real growth and zero regrets about what could have been. congrats on pursuing Platter full time Zyad!

One month at Datadog—what a whirlwind! I never thought I’d be on the “other side,” but this feels like the perfect fit for me. 🐶 Here’s what I’ve learned so far: 🤝 Find your buddies: Datadog has been fantastic about assigning onboarding buddies and mentors. They also encourage connecting with folks outside your usual circle (shoutout to Donut AI). As a distributed global workforce, it’s key to network across departments. Whether in person or on Zoom, everyone I’ve met has been so genuine and humble. I've had great conversations with folks like Julia Gosztyla, Ivette Vaca, Talia Berg, Lisa O’Brien, and my new hire and Datadog party pal Evan Young (to name just a few)—you’ve made this journey even better. Special thank you to the best corp marketing mentor, Dan Haggerty. I can’t believe how truly *nice* everyone is! ❓ Embrace the unknown: Meeting new people, tackling new responsibilities, and embracing autonomy—it’s a lot. Old habits are hard to break, but I’m learning to merge my agency experience with fresh approaches. It’s all about being vulnerable and open to new ways of working. 🧘♀️ Patience, not perfection: The hardest lesson for me so far (hello, firstborn syndrome). I’m learning to slow down, focus on the tools I need, and aim for impactful work instead of immediate perfection. Starting something new can feel both intimidating and exhilarating, no matter where you are in your career. If imposter syndrome sneaks in (as it does for me), here’s a quote I came across from Datadog’s CMO Sara Varni that resonates: “Reassure yourself you’re in a role for a reason and push through.” Here’s to one month down and many more to go! #DatadogLife

I’ll keep this short and sweet. After 7.5 years, I say goodbye to Okta. 7 different roles spanning everything from Product Marketing to Demand Marketing and everything in between. $100M~ in ARR to $2B+. The creation and re-invention of multiple market categories. From just a few thousand customers to north of 20,000. Truly iconic, and I consider myself lucky to have been a part of it. Todd McKinnon and Frederic Kerrest, it was a heck of a ride. As for what’s next, I’m excited to share that I’m starting my adventure as Chief Marketing Officer for Axonius. A few important considerations in choosing my next gig: (1) the opportunity to partner with fantastic founders in Dean Sysman Ofri Shur and Avidor Bartov who bring unparalleled expertise, integrity and intellectual curiosity. (2) a market opportunity that is massive, pervasive and untapped (CAASM) … and it’s just the beginning. (3) technology that customers love. Axonius delivers on all of this and more. The future is bright and I’m really excited to get started.

Just two months away from celebrating my three-year anniversary at Google already? 🙂↕️ Time flies! It feels like just yesterday I was that nervous newbie in a pre-sales role, a world away from my deeply hands-on DevOps zone (which became a comfy zone after four years of learning and struggles). But hey, growth happens outside your comfort zone, right? What have I learned? One day you feel you can't do it, and without your knowledge, you're already a part of some customer success story. With time, I grew to embrace the challenges and rewards of becoming a trusted Google Cloud Architect who listens and delivers what truly benefits the customer. While I am still very much hands-on in building cloud-based solutions, what's different is that I gained a new perspective on the business side, seeing firsthand how technology accelerates business growth —✌🏻 Now, when I'm part of conferences, panels, or even impromptu conversations with leaders, I understand the context and have an opinion. I feel that's a major win (at least for me)! What made this year special in this role? 🥁, please... I received the President's Cloud Club 2024 Award (a major pinch me moment)! It's definitely a testament to the hard work and dedication of my entire team, and I'm deeply grateful for the support of customers, partners, leaders, and colleagues who have all played a big part in this success. Earlier this week, I was lounging on the couch while my roommate enjoyed a nice burrito bowl binge-watching Season 4 of 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 (launched in 2017). As a huge fan myself, I couldn’t resist joining in. Suddenly, something caught my eye—a familiar purple dashboard flickered on Richard Hendricks' laptop. I thought, "No way!" and immediately asked my roommate to rewind. Sure enough, there it was—the iconic Datadog Dashboard, making a surprise cameo! 🙌🐶 Fast forward to 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 the next day, our CEO, Olivier Pomel, and the exec team were ringing in Datadog's 5-year IPO anniversary at 𝗡𝗔𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗤, live in 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆! 🎉📈 If you had invested in Datadog when Season 4 first aired, you’d have gotten in pre-IPO, pretty cool right?! 🚀😎 Back then, we had APM and distributed tracing—two powerful tools. But today?
