As a huge football fan, I know firsthand that NFL game days bring people together for unforgettable celebrations. But as exciting as those moments are, making a plan to never drive impaired is just as important as cheering for your team.   That’s why I’m incredibly proud to share that today, Diageo North America, in partnership with MADD, the National Football League (NFL), and Uber, is launching a new campaign to prevent impaired driving: Take a Minute. Make a Plan.   Timed to National Impaired Driving Prevention Month this December, this groundbreaking initiative emphasizes how just one minute of planning before celebrating can unlock the best possible time—because it ensures you’ll never drive impaired.   This first-of-its-kind campaign includes a 360-degree marketing approach with custom digital spots, in-stadium programming, Uber incentives, and so much more, ensuring this critical message reaches fans where they are. It reflects Diageo’s longstanding commitment to addressing the harmful use of alcohol and ties back to our Spirit of Progress ambition to raise awareness on the consequences of driving impaired, especially because national data shows that impaired driving continues to be an issue in the US.   The "Take A Minute" platform also pairs perfectly with our partner's Uber Reserve product. So, throughout December, fans can enjoy 25% off their ride (up to $20) when they reserve in advance using the promo code "TAKEAMINUTE." A big thanks to the Uber team and their supportive efforts!    I’m so proud of my team and our partners who came together to collaborate on this incredible project. Together, we can reach more people in creating a culture of planning and save more lives.   To make a plan you can head to TakeAMinuteNow.com or check out our press release for more information on the campaign and see below for a preview of just one of the creative spots you will see during the month of December and the rest of the NFL season leading up to the Super Bowl. https://lnkd.in/efjB6cf2   Edward Pilkington, Sally Grimes, Ana F., Christine Hasbún, Sam Salameh, Anne Nosko, Amanda Clark, Luis C Rabago, Rick Pineda, Anna Isaacson, Laura Otter, Stacey D. This is a truly wonderful and needed initiative. And not to take away anything from the focus on alcohol, I think it’s widely known that drinking and driving should never mix. But we also need to take into account a new reality in many cities and start educating people that smoking pot and driving is also driving impaired. It’s becoming a huge problem that I witness from my living room each and every Saturday afternoon as youn men in the neighborhood play basketball at the community center across the street, get high on its front steps and then drive off. Driving high is as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol.
