Last week as part of our bi-annual company off-site, instead of the usual hackathon, the whole team put aside time to dive deeply into AI. Stepping away from delivery pressures allowed us to fully immerse ourselves, gaining valuable insights into how advancements in AI tools can truly support and enhance our work. For engineering and design, this meant: - exploring where the current state for engineering tool is for code exploration, development, design, QA, and infrastructure - installing and experimenting with several different tools to see how they operate with our processes and repo's - working on real features to understand the tools strengths and weaknesses To wrap it up, everyone worked on implementing a real product feature in a language they were not familiar - it was amazing to see how far everyone got!

Exclusively for Experienced Developers? Well yes, but with some exemptions. But why? For the same reason that giving talks at conferences is not for juniors. 1️⃣ Look, it's an educational hackathon. The main takeaway for participants isn't prizes or benefits, but new skills learned from others. 2️⃣ The goal of the hackathon is to build a complex platform, which requires deep development experience. 3️⃣ However, we review all LinkedIn profiles, and if we see a junior with experience in serious projects, we approve them. 4️⃣ By the way, a few times even kids have given talks at our Geekle tech conferences. It was very cool, fun, and inspirational. So exception are possible. 5️⃣ We hope this approach to the professional level of participants will ensure the highest experience for both participants and attendees. Join here https://lnkd.in/dzMuWV4c P.S. Do you think a junior developer can take on the role of an AI engineer in the team, or is this position is more like architects - for more experienced developers? #GeekleHackathon #AIHackathon #geekle #geekleai #hackathon #TechEvent #OnlineHackathon #Coding

Every year, at Fullscript, we run a two day company-wide hackathon (2024 starts today). During the hackathon we transform ideas into shipped projects, showcasing our commitment to building the tools to power whole person health. Most importantly we inspire each other and make new friends. Here's a snippet from my North Start Email this time last year: Hackathons are generally a time in which we get inspired, we build culture, we have a lot of fun, and then go back to our day jobs. We go back to the plan we set at the start of the year and iterate on throughout. THIS WEEK… I can guarantee we will get inspired, we will build culture and we will have fun, but we won’t be going back to the same exact plan. We are the leaders in the market, we have a world-class team, we have a base of customers who love our company, and technology (AI/ML and diagnostics) has unlocked an opportunity to exponentially accelerate the value we can create for them. I believe this hackathon is going to showcase the potential in front of us and shape our future. I think it will showcase the best minds in whole person medicine solving really important problems together. I think it will remind us what we can do if we execute with urgency and focus. I think it will showcase a path to helping a lot of people get better, while strengthening our position as the market leader. For our Hack Week the leadership team is spending a day and a half making sure we have resources allocated in areas that we think will accelerate the most value for our customers and ensure we enable some of the things that inspire us at the end of this week. We recognize the urgency and critical importance of investing aggressively during a time when competition has these tools at their disposal and the agility to use them. We refuse to sit back and allow others to take the opportunity that is right in front of us, the opportunity that we have all worked so hard for. “Wanting to help people get better” and “wanting to be the best” coexist here at Fullscript. That’s the formula that makes us great. I can’t wait to see that formula in action this week. I am filled with excitement and anticipation. Here's to another epic event filled with groundbreaking ideas and transformative projects! #Innovation #FullscriptHackathon #AI #Teamwork #Leadership

What a whirlwind these last few days have been! It started with what many will see as a very simple hackathon entry, though I‘ve learned so much. For starters ACTUALLY HASTAG ALL THE RELVENT PEOPLE AND EVENTS! As opposed to adding your LinkedIn post to a LinkedIn themed Morgan Young track without even mentioning #morganyoung or the #brainrothackathon the track is part of. Honestly I don’t know if I’m a LinkedIn warrior or if it has well and truly slayed me! Although after reading Morgan’s work I am completely in awe of her determination, so I will continue to aspire to be #ThatLinkedInGirl 2.0 someday. Morgan and many other contributors to this hackathon have also helped me realise the importance of paragraphs, and how the structure of my words can increase both they’re clarity and impact. While I undertook this hackathon solo as I have in my previous three, other competitors on this app pay testement to the fact that the tech community has no boarders, and has made me excited to work with teammates across the globe to create incredible projects like the ones I have seen from you all. Speaking of great ideas, I’ve just used nosu.io for the first time, which I have independently linked below (if you can’t tell that’s also a new skill, look at me go!) and I’m so pleased with the results. Not only did it give me valuable feedback and eras to improve my idea, but also generated the perfect brainrot description. My LinkedIn translator has an uniqueness score of 8/10, an impact score of 8/10 and a winning score of 9/10! Though I’m not going to get too excited yet, as I’ve seen countless of amazing entries and I don’t know how Audrey Chen and all the other amazing judges are going to choose. Whichever way it goes I’ve already gained so much from the experience that I don’t see a way I could loose. There’s still time to enter, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. If you’re unsure about your idea for the hackathon or any other for that matter, why not head over to nosu.io and get valuable feedback, or simply have fun with the brainrot translator! I can’t wait to see the results, good luck everyone!

WE CAME IN 2ND!!! Over the past week, my team and I participated in India's first GenAI Hackathon conducted by Paras Madan and Team. This was a 7-day hackathon, where we had to build any product which uses GenerativeAI within the span of 7 days. The theme was "By Indians, for the people of India". This competition had India's best AI minds working on their solutions from IITs and employees from Top Companies. We were up against 23 teams from all over India. This made us brainstorm the problem we wanted to solve A LOT. After 80+ hours of coding and sleepless nights of solving never-ending bugs ( that we created) , we finally completed the product end to end (only one part wasn't deployed) We tried and failed, we tried and failed a countless number of times, heck accidentally even uploaded API keys on GitHub publicly! I finally learnt how to use GitHub and AWS s3 buckets as our solution and the complex APIs we used, required us to know cloud storage concepts, which was a pain cause I literally didn't know what I was doing half of the time. remember: if it works......DO NOT TOUCH IT (took 3 hours to fix a bug because I thought I could make that feature better) I would like to immensely thank Vasundhhara Katoch "maam" who led us, Rahul Singh (special thanks for being so helpful) and Shaik Achukatla Aslam Ahammad for being literally the best hackathon team ever! I would love to participate with them in more competitions and come first haha. Can't wait for the goodies we won!!! The video below shows you a tiny part of the output of what we did in this hackathon, using Lica World API! Anurag Upadhyay Sanjay Padode The Professor a.k.a Rishi (He/ Stanford, IMI, DPS, Former CXO) Asamanya Mohanty, 5x PMP® Thejus Kartha Sridhar Pappu Dr. Salur Srikant Patnaik Sujit Dhanuka Uma Ranjan

[Repost due to original post deleted] It is a treasurable experience joining the hackathon organized by Hong Kong Canadians Hackathon. I am so glad there are people creating a platform for newcomers from HK with IT background to connect and working on a solution for NGO. It is also great learning opportunity for me to realize the importance of recognizing audience in presenting a solution. Mentioning buzzwords like AI" can sometimes have the opposite effect, as the client might feel overwhelmed, or making them perceive it as flashy rather than a solution to their actual problem. Also, even though they are using Microsoft 365, mentioning terms like Power Automate or Azure services can still be too technical for this particular audience, leading to confusion rather than clarity. Despite this, I want to explain how I used AI Agents to solve their data integration problem. The client had many Excel files generated by different Microsoft Forms, where each form asked for the same data fields but used different question texts. This resulted in Excel files with same purpose but varying column formats and names, and the client want to merge them and create a unified view. Traditional ETL methods is nearly impossible without standardize all these columns first. However, with AI Agent, we are able to feed the headers and data rows, creating an AI assistant that can reformat and merge data with different formats into a unified table. People often worry about the costs associated with AI, but the reality is that AI can be surprisingly affordable. For instance, using OpenAI's GPT-4 API can cost as little as $0.150 per million input tokens (with each token representing 1-2 words), making it a cost-effective solution for many projects. Thank you to mentors King and Stephen for their valuable advice on how I could improve, particularly in communication and teamwork. At times, I struggled to convey complex ideas clearly, which may have led to misunderstandings or confusion within the team. This challenge might be a consequence of working on personal projects for some time, where I had less experience in collaborative settings. Nonetheless, I deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication of my teammates: Marjorie Cheung, Taylor Lo, and Ekata. Their diverse opinions and commitment throughout the hackathon were invaluable. Overall, this hackathon was a fulfilling experience, and I'm glad to have had the chance to contribute and connect with others in the field.
