The death of SEO as an industry and growth channel is highly over estimated. The death of mediocre SEO strategies that use old playbooks is highly underestimated. #marketing

There’s plenty of search traffic out there, but not for every industry and niche. Especially B2B, there may just not be a lot of search volume for some softwares or tools. I see that when I run paid search for SaaS. Not a lot of search volume and you’ll get consumers clicking just because they’ll click on anything. I’m not saying there’s no organic search for everyone, but it’s limited and that’s why you need a multi channel strategyutilizing paid search, LinkedIn ads, LinkedIn organic, re-targeting, affiliates, influencers, and partners. You need all that going on simultaneously and growing over time each channel. I may be stating the obvious, but I really believe it. Have you heard of Brandwell.ai? They took over market muse. I really like that tool for quick SEO optimized content creation. Very affordable too. Anyway, another great topic Ross. Keep bringing the content because few people are bringing it like you.

Ross Simmonds, spot on about 'mediocre strategies'—so many brands are stuck there, hoping SEO alone will save them. The ones winning? They’re mixing real customer-focused content with smart strategy. Curious, though—do you think AI tools are helping marketers fix this, or just adding more noise? Would love your take.

For sure, the brands that understand intent-based optimization will win the search game

I should have had that tattooed on my forehead. I would have been a billionaire already.

The only people that say SEO is dead are the people that don't understand SEO and maths IMO.

It's not enough to just follow the old playbook. We need to be strategic, creative, and data-driven.

It changes so quickly it's hard to remember what used to work. What's an old SEO strategy that doesn't work?

SEO is far from dying but the algorithms will change rapidly as AI capacity expands and user behavior changes. That said... anyone sleeping on AEO is making a grave mistake. Well said Ross Simmonds.
