Stop overcomplicating your marketing. (It's not rocket science.) You market your business to: (A) make people aware of it, (B) get them interested in what you offer, and (C) generate sales. It’s that simple. So why all the overcomplicated, elaborate marketing funnels, theories and jargon about how to do it? Well, our brains crave complexity, and we see complex things as superior. Thus, by opposition, simple things are less desirable to our brains and we bias away from them. (Basically, we self sabotage.) So let me simplify it for you. And the next time a marketing agency or guru tries to complicate it (and upsell you their fancy marketing packages), remember these marketing fundamentals… Want to become more visible in your market? 💡Invest in these 3 things: 1. SEO for your website 2. Social media marketing (only on the right channels) 3. Useful content for your ideal customers (optimized for search engines) Want to generate more leads? 💡Do these 3 things: 1. Optimize your website for conversions 2. Create a valuable lead magnet 3. Run paid ads Want to turn those leads into sales? 💡Try these 3 things: 1. Nurture your email list with really valuable content 2. Provide a way for your leads to “try” you out (ex: webinars/workshops, free consults/demos) 3. Build case studies and get good reviews (a.k.a. social proof) Marketing doesn’t have to be complicated, but the way in which you deploy strategies and tactics will vary based on the nature of your business. P.S. When my brain starts to crave complexity, I repeat this saying to myself: K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid. 😉
