We're looking for two passionate healthcare professionals to help shape the future of care at St Oswald's Hospice. Could this be you or someone you know? Share with your networks!
Transformative Leader Driving Impact in Healthcare, Business & Community; CEO, St Oswald’s; Director, NE Chamber of Commerce; Diversity & Inclusion Advocate; Chair, Eliot Smith Dance
Yesterday, I shared my thoughts on building inclusive organisations. Today, I’m excited to offer an opportunity for you, or someone in your network, to actively contribute to an organisation that is striving to embody inclusion, St Oswald's Hospice. We’re looking for a Trustee and an Associate Trustee to join our Board and help steer our incredible charity forward. After reviewing our current Board’s skills, we’ve identified a need for individuals with a clinical background. This doesn’t just mean doctors and nurses - it includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals involved in patient care. The Trustee role is a full position on the Board and involves being part of our Clinical Governance and Quality Committee. The Associate Trustee role is a shorter-term commitment (6–12 months), perfect for someone exploring what being a trustee entails or seeking a more flexible way to contribute. At St Oswald’s, we recognise that a diverse Board is a stronger, more innovative, and effective Board. While we already have a mix of professional skills, male/female representation, and a reasonable age range (although it could be wider), we acknowledge there’s work to do in broadening our diversity of backgrounds and lived experiences. We actively encourage individuals from minoritised backgrounds to get in touch. We know that diversity fuels creativity and improves decision-making, and performance - qualities every organisation should aspire to. Working for St Oswald’s is the best job I’ve ever had. Everyone who walks through our doors agrees it’s a truly special place. If you’re a clinical professional with a passion for making a difference, or if you know someone who fits the bill, I urge you to explore these roles and share this post. #trustee #recruiting #hiring
