Today marks my first anniversary as CEO of West Tamar Council and what a year it has been. Some of my take outs: * Being a CEO can be a lonely journey especially when making the tough decisions * I have an awesome team * I live and work with an awesome community * Ensuring you have a psychologically safe workplace is critical to culture transformation. It's hard work but so worthwhile. * I get to see the difference I make to the community every day and listening to my communities needs and aspirations is one of the best parts of the job (delivering on those aspirations is even better!). * You need to always make time to have those tough discussions - people respect you more for having those conversations - even if we don't always agree on what's next. * Trust is earned and can easily be lost. * Don't forget to bring everyone on the journey! My achievements this year have been many and varied, and I cannot wait to see what the next 12 months bring. #LoveMyJob #LocalGoverment #Leadership
