Diabetic retinopathy, the most common of the diabetic eye diseases, is the 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 for adults between the ages of 20 and 74. According to the National Eye Institute (NEI), early intervention for DR can reduce risk of blindness by 95%.
