📢 Announcing SRM360.org: Launching 26 November! 📢 SRM360 is a new non-profit knowledge hub designed to facilitate an informed and evidence-based discussion on sunlight reflection methods (SRM) as a potential approach to address climate change. As climate extremes grow more frequent and severe, exploring novel approaches like SRM to reduce warming impacts is increasingly critical. At SRM360, we aim to bridge the knowledge gap between scientific research and public understanding. Our expert team collaborates globally to distill SRM science into accessible articles, videos, and resources, empowering policymakers, journalists, NGOs, and the broader community with balanced insights. We remain impartial on whether SRM should be adopted, focusing instead on providing accessible, reliable information to foster informed perspectives. Visit SRM360.org on 26 November to learn more. #SunlightReflectionMethods #SRM #climatescience

US non-profit Ceres, Inc. has released new guidance to help companies draft credible climate transition plans, which it says is aligned with the UK’s Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) framework. The sustainability advocacy organisation focuses on six action ‘action areas’: setting goals and science-based targets, decarbonising the business, ensuring a just transition, advocating for public policy, supporting integration and accountability, and tracking and reporting progress. It also offers 45 case studies analysing the #ClimateTransitionPlans of large companies, and identifies best practices from several of them, including Ball Corporation and Mars. https://lnkd.in/eVrmDVty #TransitionPlanning #TPTFramework #CSRD #ChiefSustainabilityOfficer

Last weekend, I attended a workshop organized by Women For Sustainability Africa, a non-profit dedicated to women empowerment and environmental sustainability. The workshop focused on building the capacity of climate activists and students to edit #Wikipedia and leverage it for sustainability topics. By editing Wikipedia, we can ensure accurate and up-to-date information on climate change is accessible to all, raising awareness and promoting action. #Climate change is a complex issue with far-reaching impacts, but collective action can mitigate its effects. #Wikipedia is a vital platform for sharing information, with over 50 million articles in hundreds of languages. The workshop was facilitated by experienced trainers, and we learned how to create accounts, navigate the platform, and edit articles while citing sources and respecting different perspectives. What struck me most was the passion and dedication of the participants, united by our commitment to addressing climate change. We shared experiences, knowledge, and ideas, learning from each other's perspectives. The workshop empowered women to take action on climate change, recognizing their critical role in addressing this global challenge. I left feeling #inspired, #motivated, and equipped to make a difference. Climate action is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to create a better future. I urge you to join me in taking action on climate change. Let's harness the power of Wikipedia to share knowledge, raise awareness, and inspire action. Together, we can create a sustainable future for all. Let's continue to learn from each other and support one another in our efforts to address climate change. We can make a difference, one edit at a time! #ClimateAction #WikipediaForClimate #WomenForSustainabilityAfrica

"Together we can, and together I know we will." 🔨 Mayor Justin M. Bibb, you hit the nail on the head. 🌎 Solving climate change will not happen alone. We need companies, non-profits, cities, and communities to come together to make it happen. 🟰 Not only that, but collaboration gives us an opportunity to solve climate change *and* do it in an equitable way. 💪🏻💪🏽💪🏿 No one wins unless we all do. Imagine what we could do together. #theCLC #climateaction The Climate Registry

Your Support Can Help a Just Energy Transition This #GivingTuesday, the stakes are higher than ever as global funding for the development and nonprofit sector faces intense pressure. In addition, despite ongoing calls for ambitious action, the climate commitments at this year’s #COP29 have been appropriately described as a “band-aid on a bullet wound.” Communities are losing critical services, momentum toward the Sustainable Development Goals is slowing, and the fight against climate change impacts is hanging by a thread. Around the world, nonprofits are facing unprecedented challenges and our years of progress in clean energy access, climate resilience, and sustainable development are at risk. Since 2015, Power for All has worked to expand the market for distributed renewable energy (#DRE) as the fastest means to end energy poverty. We use awareness, advocacy, and market activation to address energy resource inequality and biases in the global power system across developing countries. In some regions, we conduct targeted campaigns promoting DRE benefits, collaborating across sectors to boost demand, and foster a more inclusive global energy system. This #GivingTuesday, your support will help deliver clean energy to underserved communities, drive climate action, and create a sustainable future. A gift can make a life-changing impact, connecting people to the benefits of reliable, affordable, clean energy.
