I’m thrilled to share that I was invited to the Global Open Source Innovation Summit hosted by Meta at their Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, from December 2-4, 2024, where I had the opportunity to showcase my poster on leveraging Llama models to promote accessible cultural tourism and re-discover lost heritage sites in the face of rapid urbanization. The summit was an enriching experience—I thoroughly enjoyed attending workshops, lightning talks, and discussing the incredible power of open-source models like Llama, making cutting-edge AI accessible to everyone and opening doors for developers and innovators from all walks of life to build solutions that truly matter. Whether it’s making tech more inclusive, improving education, or solving big societal challenges, open-source tools break down barriers and bring people together to collaborate. A highlight for me was signing the Meta Wall of Fame—an unforgettable moment! I had the pleasure of meeting Fan Zhang, Sharon Yang, Saaya Kurihara, Raghav Arora, Christelle Dernon, Daniela Giugliano, Kamila Camilo, Chintan Donda, Mokshita Vashisht, Shashi Kiran Deshetti, Emily Horneman, Tarun Chawdhury, MSCS, Bastien Bernath, Etienne Boisson, and reconnecting with John Bockstanz, Sanyam Bhutani, Jake O'Shea, Michael Daigler, Adi Tantravahi - thank you for the engaging conversations, insights, and inspiration. It was inspiring to hear about the work you’re doing to make a difference through technology. A huge thank you to John Bockstanz and Darren Touch (陶瀚生) for hosting such a transformative event, and to everyone who stopped by to engage with our work. Your feedback and enthusiasm were incredibly motivating! Here’s to building tech that leaves no one behind! 🌎 #MetaOpenSourceSummit #OpenSource #Accessibility #SocialImpact #LlamaModels #Innovation #aiatmeta
