Anumati by Perfios AA is growing at a scorching pace typical of early-stage startups in a nascent industry. Our key metric is the number of successful data fetches we do on behalf of data principals. Benchmarking the *month* of Apr ’23 at 100, we scaled to 2,000 *last week*! While there are operating challenges in managing this pace of growth, it is crucial to keep both ears open to listen to what customers are telling us. We were fortunate to collaborate with CGAP on a research project to listen to customers. Some select highlights here, do go through the entire report here, it’s an excellent read https://lnkd.in/gxA7ZJCV 1. “Users of the Account Aggregator ecosystem are financially savvy and active users of digital payments services.” This is intuitive, given that we are targeting users who are already data-rich and want to get economically rich using their own data. 2. “Awareness of Account Aggregators is low.” A lot more effort is needed by all stakeholders to move the needle. 3. “About 20% of respondents said they were willing to share data in exchange for benefits.” Clearly, we need to do a better job of communicating benefits – convenience, speed, and security 4. “The majority of customers said they would not feel safe sharing data through a third-party.” This is an interesting insight. Users discover the AA option in the course of a product journey at a financial institution. It is important to leverage the trust that users have in their financial institutions and blend in the AA journey seamlessly. 5. “For respondents who applied for a loan in the last 18 months, 10% reported using the AA option to share their data.” 60% are still submitting paper-based statements. Quite disappointing despite the explosion in digital payments and banks’ investments in digital transformation. We need another “depaperisation” moment driven by government / regulatory mandate. As entrepreneurs, we’re always caught up in putting our heads down and executing like our life depends on it (matter of fact, it does!). Inputs such as this report give us the confidence that we’re building something meaningful and of durable value, and actionable insights to make course corrections as we build.
