Struggling with Freelancer Life? You're Not Alone! Freelancing can be a rollercoaster ride of uncertainty, with its fair share of struggles along the way. From managing multiple projects to dealing with unpredictable income, the challenges are real. But here's the silver lining: You’re growth is BOUNDLESS. You don’t have to wait to get a promotion to earn more or get more work. The freedom of not being on a salary, means you can work more and earn more and don’t need to be promoted. Here’s some things you can do to help your growth: 1. Stay organised. Write yourself a daily and weekly to-do list. Make sure you refer back to it regularly. Include ‘life’ things on there too, such as the food shopping, appointments, going to the gym, etc. That way you are making sure you are getting your work/life balance. 2. Set goals. Set goals for short, mid and long term AND actionable steps to achieve those goals. When you put steps in place to achieve your goals, you are going to get there quicker and with more focus, as you know what you want achieve and how you are going to achieve it. 3. Seek support from fellow freelancers. Reach out to other freelancers and have a community around you that supports you. This will help you stay on track and will give you inspiration to keep on going. Keep going and moving towards what you want in life. You've got this! 🌟 Love, Kat x _____________________ Hello! I've been a freelancer for 7+ years. JUST this past January, I quit my job and took it full-time. I took my time building this business to learn as many mistakes as possible before relying on it for income. I don't want you to make the same mistakes, so I shared all my lessons with Benjamin Ard on the Content Amplified Podcast. Some of my fav tips: 1. Over-Communicate Everything You have to remember, you are kind of an external person to the team. There’s going to be gaps in communication, so over-communicate everything. Send regular updates, even if it feels excessive. Keep clients informed about your work schedule, progress, and any challenges you encounter. 2. Establish Clear Expectations Define the scope of work, communication preferences, and work schedules. Freelancers should be upfront about their working hours, preferred communication channels, and any personal work habits that might affect the collaboration. 3. Align Work with Business Goals If you can tie your work to results-based metrics, you’re going to be seen as a much more important asset to the team. Set marketing goals that support the client’s business objectives and track performance against these goals. If you can prove that you’re generating revenue for the business, you will always have a place in their hearts and a place in their budget. I share how to do these things + several other tips in the episode. Listen to the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/gYGdtwAu

I was thinking about this yesterday and thought it might help some other freelancers out there too… Since I started freelancing through to now I’ve always considered 3 main points from my time working in agencies. These 3 points formed the foundation of everything I did as a freelancer and everything we do at Interim: 1.) when I was agency side, what was I not very good at and were highlighted as consistent areas of improvement 2.) what frustrated clients most 3.) what frustrated me most When you strip it right back there was one thing for me that runs through all 3 of these points: Communication. So now, it is without doubt the single biggest focus of everything I/we do at Interim. It’s something I actively read about, listen to countless podcasts about, watch hours of YouTube videos about and consistently learn about more than any other area of running a business. It makes the uncomfortable times less uncomfortable and adds so much trust and validity to what you offer as a freelancer or business if you can nail good communication. I’ve been a bad communicator, especially in the early days. Avoiding hard conversations, not replying to emails etc But if you can push yourself to be the opposite and value communication above all other traits you’ll make a brilliant freelancer Have I mastered it yet? Absolutely not Will I ever stop trying? Never Now go reply to that uncomfortable email that’s been sat in your inbox for 2 weeks!! Your mental space and your clients will thank you for it #freelancerlife #selfdevelopment #solofounder
