#Multiclub #ownership should be banned. Period. When groups own clubs on different continents, they can engage in transfers that allow them to play around rules and that gives them an unfair advantage over other clubs m. When groups own clubs that compete in the same competition like in European #competitions, the conflict of interests is worse even with a 30% or a 10% stake and even with a trust. In the case of #Girona, there is common ownership, #Manchestercity 's manager Pep #Guardiola's brother is Girona's chairman, and several players were moved from City to Girona and played an important role in Girona's great performance this year. What would happen if Girona were to face City in next year's Champions League? #governance #sport #business #uefa #football #competition #fairness #competitionpolicy https://lnkd.in/eUY_H5dE

Belfast, don't score an own goal in Euro ’28! ⚽ The people of Northern Ireland will miss out on world class football on their doorstep during Euro ’28, following decision to review the Casement Park plan – making it the only region in the UK and Republic of Ireland left out of hosting the joint bid. The UK Government announced it would not provide the funds to complete Casement Park in time for Euro ’28, losing the city an estimated £100m to its economy, as the four games Belfast was due to host will be held elsewhere. But is there an alternative? 🤔 Z Property is a team of experienced constructors as well as football fanatics, truly devastated at the loss of Belfast hosting Euro ’28 matches. So, we put our heads together and have come up with a solution: a Modular Stadium. A modular, temporary stadium will take 9 months to build, can be in place over a year before the Euros kick off (required by UEFA) and can be dismantled after the events are complete. Modular stadia have a proven track record of housing sporting tournaments, being used in previous World Cups, the Euros in Portugal and for the World championship athletics in Budapest. At Z, we have been working with our industry leading partners to make the Belfast Euro ’28 dream a reality, identifying four potential sites in Belfast perfectly placed to bring the city alive with the love of football. This would give Northern Ireland and the Belfast region a real opportunity to fully participate in Euro ‘28, at a fraction of the cost of the proposed Casement additional spend. The plan is a winner on many fronts: 🏆 The stadium would be urban based, meaning travel infrastructure for tourists and locals alike is already in place. 🏆 Planning permission for a temporary structure would be easier to achieve than for a permanent installation, especially with political will to see the project happen. 🏆 The tight timescales can be met by a modular stadium where a traditional build stadium could not. Let’s do it. Let’s rise to challenge, Belfast. Let’s show what we our wee country can achieve and share our love of football with the world. Share this post to show your support to bring the Euros to Belfast! ⚽
