It is interesting observation as I connect with past friends, peers and partners. The media reports that Corporate America is looking for dedicated hard working professionals. They are struggling with a current workforce that runs to Google, social media and AI for answers on how to do their job and deal with co-workers. A generation of workers that do not want to answer the phone, be visible on conference calls, or untethered from social media for more than 20 minutes at a time. To address this, companies have turned to AI for recruitment, but the filters in place are inadvertently hindering the hiring process by delaying and even overlooking experienced candidates. For example the technology employment paradox, when a company asks you not to submit an AI generated resume or cover letter, yet they will use AI to process, filter and forward the application. Amidst these evolving processes, it now appears to take companies an average of six months to respond back to candidates to complete the hiring process, contributing to their challenges in sustaining growth due to workforce shortages. IMHO the human touch remains crucial still in both sales and the hiring processes. People buy from people they know, and it's the same with hiring. To those out there diligently plugging away, responding to every online posting and then waiting. I believe that relationships and recommendations still work faster in getting hired, and also closing the deal.😀
