Learn the Top 3 Skills Leaders Need in 2025
These were the top three Speak by Design Trainings companies invested in last year. We believe these are the top three skills leaders need to master for 2025:
1 - Relationship building – networking internally
Traditionally, people have focused on building relationships outside of the organization. With the loss of collaboration due to increased remote work, this has been a new skills gap.
2 - Communication Agility - thinking on your feet
Being able to answer swiftly, clearly, and concisely when asked questions or presenting helps everything move more efficiently.
3 - Articulating a Vision - making the strategy crystal clear
The leader might have the strategy very clearly in their mind, but how do you translate that to the rest of the team?

We've seen three interesting trends in learning this year. The first has been a big focus on relationship building skills, helping people get good at building relationships within their organization. Where you think we'd be focusing on how do you build relationships with clients and customers? External relationships or partnerships? No, we've been focusing on internal relationships because there's been a loss in collaboration culturally and organizations. Secondly, we've all been focusing on how people think on their feet and. How they handle questions concisely and clearly in the moment. And if they don't have the answer, saying they don't have the answer, but keeping that swift and keeping the conversation going so you're more likely to end with a decision and a next step action that leads to higher productivity. 3rd learning that has been a big focus is teaching groups, teams, how to deliver strategy, how to articulate strategy in a very clear, pragmatic way. So the leader might have the strategy very clearly in mind, but if the next level down cannot articulate that strategy, nothing's going to change. So helping the next tiers down, cascading that learning so everybody can present that strategy in a way that is authentic to them, makes sense to them, and applies to their respective. Audiences. So think about those trends and what that means for 2025. So with people focusing on relationships, focusing on thinking on their feet and articulating a strategy, I think we're going to see some rapid change. Not only because of generative AI and new changes in the world, but because people are ready, people are skilled up and looking to apply these skills. So if you are hungry for this learning for yourself, check out Speak by Design University. It's our 25th anniversary year and we've assembled an interesting lineup of courses and topics, monthly themes in combination with private coaching and a lot of networking for you as well. Registration closes on December 31st. We do have special promotion pricing through the end of the year. And then our pricing will return to normal starting January. We hope you can join us for this special anniversary year.
