I'm shy... No, wait, I'm hyper... Actually, I have trust issues... Did I mention that I'm scared of dogs? Yeah, that's it, you can only become successful as an entrepreneur is by making sacrifices... Have you ever said similarly or have you heard anyone make these types of statements? If I asked you why you were scared of dogs, for example, would you know why? Maybe you were chased by a dog when you were young or maybe it was just because your grandmother was scared of them. Either way, it is because of something that created a narrative that became tied directly into your identity, In order to change your narratives, you need to first explore the events that created them in the first place to understand what created those stories in the first place. The biggest misunderstanding about #ChangingStories is the assumption that it requires ignoring how we felt because of the associated events, when in fact it's about embracing them, and detailing what created them in the first place. In this episode of #ConfrontingYourChaos, we go through step 3 of the #ClarityCatalyst process, "Your Stories That Made You" by examining the events that created my #narratives of why I believed that there would never be enough means to live, that I could be removed from a place that I considered safe, that I was always going to be dismissed by people, and the only way to keep going was to only count on myself through sacrifice and struggle. https://lnkd.in/g_mYtW9q Please share if this episode resonates with you or could help someone you know. The Positive Habits Podcast I was very flattered to be invited by Kat Thorne as a guest on her Positive Habits Podcast and share some of the experiences I've been through in my life and career and the habits I've created as a result. I opened up more than I expected but believe it was important to be honest and transparent. This experience was way out of my comfort zone and something I wasn't sure about doing but I'm glad I did and hope those that listen are able to take something away from it. The podcast has been released today and I have attached a 58 second clip below (the full episode has been tagged in the comments). Things I've learned having done it: 1. Kat is a brilliant host, she makes you feel very at ease and comes across so well (I urge people to subscribe and listen to the other episodes as they have something for everyone). 2. I overtalk when I'm nervous 3. "Erm" and "Think" are big words in my vocabulary 🤦♂️ 4. It's okay to share and be honest about things 5. If you don't put yourself out there you will never know 6. Regardless of how uncomfortable I was, if it helps just one person with something then it is worthwhile 7. We only have one life, live it! I hope you enjoy it. 🎙 New Episode: David Fielding - Green Beret, Author, American James Bond (Link in comments). Dave walked away from ad agency life to sign up for the "adventure plus package," becoming a Green Beret and intelligence operative, working with three-letter agencies in Iraq, Syria, and elsewhere. His work helped put the leader of IS*S out of his misery. But this episode isn't about war, it's about telling difficult stories in the hopes of inspiring others to open up about theirs. It's about how nobody's too tough for self-care and honest conversations about mental health. In this episode, we talk about: 🕵♂️ What ghostwriters can learn from spies about asking good questions and honing people skills to get great stories from people. ❓ The power of asking (yourself and others) "why?" ✋ "Owning your sh*t" and knowing how and when to ask for help when dealing with mental health struggles. 🪖 How special operators go through the same stuff we all do, from imposter syndrome to toxic relationships and loneliness. 📱 Why, according to this intelligence professional, people worry way too much about their data and digital privacy (there's no such thing anymore) and not enough about how their devices impact their mental health. 🗞 How your media diet and what you choose to share online can warp your worldview and harm your reputation. 💪 Why coming from Massachusetts is the best thing ever. #podcast #PTSD
