People often ask us, "why Alabama?" and to that we say THIS IS WHY! When major innovators in the aerospace industry make major investments here, we take note. They're looking for areas with affordable housing and economic stability. These are two big factors to consider when evaluating a market to invest in.

Interesting read, especially for those in Utah. The Beehive State’s economy has been largely tied to the agricultural, energy and tech industries, but the aerospace and defense sector may prove to be more dependable than all three put together, according to this Utah Business article. #ZionsBanker https://gag.gl/TtH58u

Article Review The reason why Americans drive on the right side of the road while the UK drives on the left involves a mix of historical developments and cultural shifts over time. In Europe, Napoleon Bonaparte significantly influenced the practice of right-side driving as he expanded his empire, with the exception of countries like Britain that were not under his control. In the United States, the tradition predates automobiles and even the establishment of the country itself, with the design of the Conestoga wagon playing a pivotal role. Developed in Pennsylvania in the early 1700s for transporting goods, these wagons were controlled from the left side, leading the driver to naturally walk on the road's right side, setting a precedent that was later formalized into law. By contrast, in Britain and other places where left-side driving is practiced, historical preferences for keeping one's right hand free for greetings or defense while on horseback influenced the custom of traveling on the road's left side. This divergence in practices led to the current situation where approximately 70% of the world drives on the right and 30% on the left. The decision in each country reflects a complex interplay of historical, cultural, and practical factors, including decisions made by rulers, military conquests, and the design of vehicles and transportation infrastructure over centuries.

🚀 Exciting Growth in the Aerospace and Defense Industry! 🛡️ - The Aerospace and Defense industry continues to boom after seeing a slight slowdown in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, the Department of Defense issued a record-breaking $488 billion in contract awards, an increase of 11.5% year-over-year. - Out of the $488 billion awarded in 2023, 5 leading defense contractors accounted for 32% of total award volume. However, with almost $200 billion of contracts being reported as awarded as of Q2 2024, the DOD is on track for another record-breaking year with even more opportunities for growth within the industry. - Despite a slowdown in the first half of 2024, the A&D start-up space ended 2023 on a high note with 89 deals resulting in just under $3 billion in Venture Capital funding raised, the most invested in the industry since the 2nd quarter of 2022. - Even one-quarter of significant capital investment can lead to an increase in real estate activity. Five of the start-ups who received VC investment in Q4 2023 signed six leases within a year of receiving funding, accounting for over 190,000 s.f. of demand. Four of the leases signed were in Southern California and two were in Northern Virginia. With such robust growth and investment, the future of the Aerospace and Defense industry remains promising. As the industry gains momentum, we can expect continued expansion and a surge in real estate activity. #Aerospace #Defense #GrowthOpportunities #RealEstate #JLL #Innovation
