🚀Low-cost launches and Mars colonisation: the future (of Starship) according to Elon Musk SpaceX founder Elon Musk has outlined the future of Starship, a revolutionary space launcher: it will be 150 metres high and have the capacity to launch over 200 tonnes into orbit at an incredibly low cost. 🌌 Musk's Mission: Multiplanetarity Musk reiterates the need to transform Humanity into a multiplanetary civilisation in order to preserve it from future catastrophes. Starship, with its ability to take crews to Mars, is seen as the key to realising this prospect. 🛠️ Innovations and Technological Developments SpaceX is making significant progress in making Starship a fully reusable vehicle. Musk has promised that Starship will be reusable by 2025, which will drastically reduce the cost of spaceflight. 🌕 Intergalactic Destinations: Moon and Mars Before aiming for Mars, Musk is convinced it will help establish a permanent human presence on the Moon. Starship's ability to carry heavy cargo and personnel makes the construction of a lunar base and subsequent jump to Mars possible. 🏭 Mass Production: The Starship Factory SpaceX is investing heavily in Starship mass production. A giant factory in Brownsville, Texas, will be able to produce up to one hundred Starships per year, supporting the colonisation of Mars and making space travel an everyday reality. 📉 Cost Reduction: Space Revolution Starship could reduce launch costs by up to $2-3 million, a fraction of current costs, democratising space exploration and opening up new opportunities.
