🚨First Achievement Alert regarding Short Film!🚨 It took a few brainstorming sessions both on Google Meet with friends and then in person, and also discarding an entire script, to come up with my debut short film plot. 🎬 But all was not perfectly oiled. Shooting day came, and we found out our props weren't ready, so we had to reschedule for the next day. Initially, the plan was to shoot on a camera, but resource limitations had other plans.📱💡 We pivoted, shooting the entire thing on the iPhone 15 Pro in ProRes LOG 4K 24FPS! And let me tell you, magic did happen in the edit! 💻 I was involved in triple roles on this project: Director, DOP, and Colorist. I had the benefit of working with talented DOPs Utsav and Shubham. Utsav did the timeline editing, Shubham worked his art through the sound effects, and lastly, I did color grading in DaVinci Resolve.🎨 It all integrated so well; because of this, I was able to achieve First Position in the Jade Cohort!🏆 Elated to be sharing this project, starting from scratch, facing every hurdle, and yet making it to the top.💥 #Filmmaking #Creativity #iPhoneCinematography #Editing #DaVinciResolve #JadeCohort #BehindTheScenes #PassionToProfession #IndieFilm #JadeCreator #filmmakingcommunity #indiefilmcommunity #filmmakingtips #postproduction #colorgrading #shotoniphone #iphonelog #proreslog #colorist

📌To make a good song video, you will need a few important elements: 1. Camera and Lighting: Good lighting is very important in creating atmosphere and creating an emotional impact that suits the mood of the song. Likewise, the angle and movements of the camera support the narrative of the clip. 2. Director and Team: A good director shapes the creative direction of the clip. Additionally, a professional team is required to handle details such as lighting, cameras, sets and production. 3. Location and Venue Selection: The shooting locations should be chosen to support the spirit and concept of the song. Natural locations, studio shooting or the use of a special set may be considered. 4. Concept and Story: It is very important to determine a theme or story for the clip. Write a script or create a visual story that goes with the lyrics of the song. The atmosphere in the video should reflect the emotion of the song. 5. Post-Production: Post-shooting montage, color editing and effects are also important elements that increase the overall quality of the clip. Considering all this, it is important to form a team and plan on time to create a good song video. #okkodigital #clip #tips

Have you ever heard of colour correction? As a video producer in the past, I spent many hours in colourists' studios working with directors and DOPs on colour correction of video footage. More blue at the beginning when we show a problem and orange and yellow tones when we show the solution - it's a rule for commercials! These little colour tricks really change the audience's perception. So simple, but it works. So why can't I use it in real life? and I do. In the last month I have been using yellow glasses 80% of the time and it has really lifted my mood for the day. I cannot find any serious research on the subject, but from my own perspective it helps, especially when you are a founder and your mood is your company's mood. #founderstrick #founderstories

The decisions you make behind the camera matter. This is one element you shouldn't overlook... 🔥 Camera style It's an essential filmmaking tactic you can use to help tell your story. When your hero is going through their conflict, you can show that visually. ✅ Handheld camera movement ↳ It's bumpy ↳ Represents more conflict When your hero is overcoming their obstacles, you can switch to a different style. ✅ Steadicam, dolly, or tripod ↳ It's butter smooth ↳ Represents resolution This can especially be effective when you contrast the 2 camera movements as exemplified above. This way, you can visually display how your character is struggling OR succeeding. Check out this clip below 👇 This is a classic "hero shot". The camera moves in super steadily making the hero look important and powerful. Shots like this can make or break the end of your video. They can make your audience feel satisfied that the hero is winning. ↳ Don't forget, the hero should represent your customer. If the hero is empowered, your customer is gonna want to be more like them. So they're more likely to: ↳ Remember your brand ↳ Buy your product or service ↳ Correlate a positive emotion with your brand Remember, any of these techniques should be so stealth that your audience never even notices them. Your customer should only be paying attention to the story. And every single decision you make behind the camera should support that. P.S. Who's your favorite protagonist in a tv show or film?

New blog post out for The Post Process! Color pipeline issues can be complicated between vfx and color. Often there are shifts in color, gamma or formatting. This article lays out a structured approach to manage the color pipeline between teams. Check it out below!
Have you ever struggled with color pipeline issues between colorist and vfx artists? I know I have. It’s difficult to make sense of the large scope required to make good decisions around the color pipeline during the post process. Because of these issues, I’ve written a new article for The Post Process. This article, along with a paid resource, provides a map to guide teams through color pipeline issues. This map provides preset drop downs for each part of the process from production through delivery. By having a quick, easy one sheet to reference, teams can easily align on the color pipeline, saving hours of time tracking down what cameras were used, what the color spaces are and what needs to be delivered. Check out the article at the link in the bio! Thanks for reading. https://lnkd.in/gB3B5ZE5
