It is with deep gratitude that I would like to thank our dear professor Dr Mohammed Barbarawi for giving me the opportunity to participate in this research to assess the modified rankin scale for patients - (this scale is of great importance to quantify functional outcome in individuals who suffer a neurological event) - and write a part of this paper.

Today, I celebrate yet another significant achievement as we unraveled the potential of interleukin-26 as both a biomarker and a target for therapeutic intervention in severe asthma. Much gratitude to the dedicated team at KI whose relentless efforts brought this breakthrough to fruition. The essence of scientific exploration transcends mere discovery; it embodies the profound dedication of passionate researchers in piecing together intricate puzzles at the microcosmic level, even amidst apparent impossibilities. These incremental advancements, forged through dedication and perseverance, have paved the way for some of the most transformative breakthroughs, that have addressed some of humanity's most pressing health challenges today. Honored to present two podium abstracts at AMIA this time: "Cross-Modal Retrieval for Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis Using CLIP-Enhanced Dual Deep Hashing," which leverages CLIP alignment for improved cross-modal (any two modalities) retrieval; and "Conditional Score-Based Diffusion Model for Cortical Thickness Trajectory Prediction," which uses diffusion models to predict the trajectory of cortical thickness change over time. More exciting news was that our collaborative paper with Prof. Ninghao Liu and PhD student Yucheng Shi from UGA, titled "MKRAG: Medical Knowledge Retrieval Augmented Generation for Medical Question Answering," received the Distinguished Paper Award. 'The' publication of my PhD is now out - it shows that impairments in a specific type of navigation behaviour might be one of the earliest diagnostic signals for Alzheimer's disease, even before memory loss. ⛵ This form of navigation - known as path integration - is a common species-wide behaviour and is akin to "dead-reckoning" used historically by mariners to navigate oceans 👓 We used virtual reality headsets to test this, which in another recent publication from my time with Hugo Spiers was found reflective of real-life navigation: https://lnkd.in/eutGjEE7 ♀ ♂ The results were gender-specific, highlighting the need for personalised diagnostics 🔍 Look out for two more publications in the works with Dennis Chan and P.
