Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May, and we're here to help everyone yell, "THANK YOU" from the rooftops! (But get down quickly before a teacher catches you.) There are more than 4 million public and private school teachers in the U.S. Of course, that number multiplies when you expand into higher education and into the world of training, development, mentors, and other roles. It's generally agreed upon that teachers are amazing people who are underpaid and underappreciated. YOU can make a difference in how teachers feel - this week and year-round. https://lnkd.in/gkaqWguy #TeacherAppreciationWeek #teachers #thankyouteachers #teacherappreciation

🍎✨ It's Teacher Appreciation Week! 📚🎉 This week, let's take a moment to celebrate and thank the incredible educators who work tirelessly to shape the minds of our future generation. Here are some simple yet meaningful ways you can show your gratitude: 1. Write a heartfelt thank-you note: Take a moment to express your appreciation in a personalized note. Let them know how their dedication has positively impacted you, your child, or your team. 2. Send a small token of appreciation: Whether it's a bouquet of flowers, a gift card to their favorite coffee shop, or a handmade craft from a student, a small gesture can go a long way in brightening a teacher's day. 3. Share a positive story: Share a memorable experience you've had with a teacher on social media or during a school event. Publicly acknowledging their hard work can boost morale and inspire others to do the same. 4. Offer your time: Volunteer to help out in the classroom, assist with grading papers, or organize classroom materials. Your support can ease their workload and show that you value their efforts. 5. Attend school events: Show your support by attending school events such as parent-teacher conferences, open houses, or school performances. Your presence demonstrates your appreciation for their dedication to education. 6. Advocate for educators: Take the opportunity to advocate for better resources, support, and recognition for teachers in your community and beyond. Amplify their voices and champion their efforts to ensure they have what they need to succeed. Let's make Teacher Appreciation Week a time to celebrate, honor, and thank the incredible educators who inspire, motivate, and empower us every day! 🌟 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher

This Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportune moment to reflect on the invaluable role educators play in shaping our future. Teachers are unsung heroes, dedicating themselves to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. Yet, many educators face significant challenges in their roles, from inadequate funding for classroom supplies to limited access to professional development opportunities. Beyond appreciation, it's time to take tangible action to stand up for our teachers and ensure they have the resources and support necessary to thrive in our communities. As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, let's commit to more than just words of gratitude. Let's advocate for the resources, support, and recognition our teachers deserve. This means lobbying for increased funding and improved working conditions, organizing movements within our communities to raise awareness, and encouraging investment in professional development opportunities. More ways to support can be found in this article: https://lnkd.in/gBuAHRhi Together, we can empower educators to continue making a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals, shaping a brighter future for generations to come. #TeacherAppreciationWeek #SupportTeachers #EducationMatters #TeacherLove #ThankATeacher #GratitudeInEducation #EmpowerEducators #TeachingInspiration #EducationAdvocacy #CommunityImpact #FutureLeaders #TeacherEmpowerment #ClassroomSupport #ProfessionalDevelopment #EducatorRecognition Lori Woodley-Langendorff, MS, PPS

💫 Reflecting on the awe-inspiring time had at the Reimagining Education Conference this weekend. Thank you Anthony Willoughby and Chris Jones for inviting and hosting Foundations First alongside such a wealth of richly experienced individuals both from inside and outside the Education Space. 🤲 Together we have embarked on a new journey and our goal is simple - let's revolutionise the future of education, FOR ALL! 💡 Who is with us?! During our specific Foundations First presentation to the group, we explored the following: What are the skills and characters children need to be successful? What is the current picture in education? What needs to change? Exemplifications of Character Education in action. We ended the presentation by asking this simple question: What if…? 💫 🤔 Here are some of the responses: 🤩 What if you asked children what they want their school class to look like? 🤩 What if emotional intelligence and mental health were the priority in teacher training? 🤩 What if the school council focused on LEARNING and not toilets/uniform/canteen food? 🤩 What if the school council ran the school?! 🤩 What if children could choose the way they learn content? 🤩 What if you weren’t afraid to try something different? 🤩 What if teachers were open to different ways of teaching and allowed to experiment? 🤩 What if we could measure how employable school leavers were due to character development? 🤩 What if every school had a regular values discussion based on how to live the chosen values of the school – how they inform every aspect of the curriculum, every relationship, every atmosphere, and every output? 🤩 What if everyone took reflective practice more seriously – on their own and with others? 🤩 What if games and music were incorporated into lessons? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🌟 What would your ‘What if…?’ be? 🌟 We’d love to hear from you... 💚

Do you remember your favorite teacher? Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Maybe, like me, you remember each teacher who inspired you at each stage of your education journey; the impact of a great teacher extends far beyond the classroom and can influence the future trajectory of their students' lives. There is no profession I respect more than teachers. My mom and three sisters are teachers, and I know there is no way I can do what they do. I need a nap after chaperoning a field trip. Teachers create safe and inclusive spaces where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. They follow individualized education plans to make sure every child is getting the education that works best for them. Since 2020, teachers have shown remarkable resilience and adaptability, transitioning seamlessly to virtual and hybrid learning environments, finding creative ways to engage students, and overcoming obstacles with grace and determination. Some of them taught our children from home while managing their own children's online learning. As a parent, teachers are my heroes. They love and protect my kids every day. Next week, make sure you tell the teachers in your life how important they are, because I guarantee you that they don't hear it enough. #TeacherAppreciationPost #TeachersAreSuperheroes #HappyImALawyer
